Donut Themed Bulletin Board

Donut Themed Bulletin Board

I think it's so important to display student work! Our students' hard work is a wonderful way to keep bulletin boards fresh. This Kindness is Sweet bulletin board is great for any time of the year and uses the donut themed kindness writing from my Teaching Kindness with Donuts lesson. Click here to read about the lesson that was inspired by Maria Dismondy's book, "The Jelly Donut Difference."

To make this "Kindness is Sweet" bulletin board, I started by putting Fadeless® Weathered Wood Paper Roll on the back of the bulletin board. This is one of my favorite backgrounds to use because it's cute yet neutral enough to work with lots of bulletin board themes. I'm also a big fan of double borders! See my tip on easily getting your double borders lined up here. To complement the bright colors of the donuts, I layered the Purple and Turquoise Scalloped Bulletin Board borders together.

I used the Black Dot-to-Dot Uppercase and Lowercase Black Bulletin Board Letters to make the "Kindness is SWEET" title for the board. Since I wanted the SWEET part of the title to stand out, I used all Uppercase letters for it and put the title in the center of the board. I love how the black and white letters pop against the rest of the colors on the board!

To go with the sweet donut theme, I also attached a Donut Party Garland across the top by taping it to the top and sides of the board with Mavalus® Multi-Purpose Adhesive Tape. I cut the garland in half and had it overlap in the middle of the board to add extra dimension.

The last thing I did was attach the kindness is sweet writing and donut crafts from our Teaching Kindness with Donuts Lesson to the board.

I love how it turned out! It's the perfect bulletin board to celebrate kindness!
