How fun would a DIY Wine Tasting Bachelorette Party be!? If I were getting married again, I would LOVE this as a theme for my bachelorette night. Let’s forgo gyrating men in g-strings and drink fabulous wine! Whether you’re the bride, maid of honor or another friend throwing this party, you’ll want to keep the decor focused on wine and low key so that you can still enjoy the event without a lot of prep. A simple idea could be to just grab these Gold Mercury Mason Jars and throw mini candles in them for centerpieces! Since red wine is my favorite, I went with serving 5 very different red wines paired with a black and burgundy color palette to match. I recommend going out to dinner before the tasting, as each gal will be given a full bottle of wine with the combined 5 tastes, that is if she chooses to drink the entire taste! Taking an Uber home (or staying over) will be necessary!
How excited would you be to show up to a party where 5 adorable carafes full of wine, yummy snacks, a custom glass and a wine tasting notebook were waiting for you!?!
You don't have to only serve red at your event, you could serve any varietal that tickles your fancy. I chose a Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Cabernet, Merlot and a Malbec. Each wine ranged in price from $6 to $18. I created these cute bottle covers for each of the bottles so that the guests wouldn't be swayed by the varietal or the label. Learn how to make them here! If you need an alternative pick me up, you could use these Monogrammed Wine Tote Bags.
Each "taste" was roughly 5oz, which is equal to a small glass of wine. Have your guests pour an actual taste from each carafe into their glass, to see what they think. Then if they like it they can drink the rest, if not maybe they can trade a carafe with another guest to get a whole glass of something they like better!
I covered the table in black kraft paper, which made clean up super easy and also provided the perfect base color for the table decor. I used the same paper for the bottle covers too, it's awesome. A few weeks before your event, start saving empty wine bottles to create this easy centerpiece... just add flowers!
Easily hand-letter the plastic wine glasses and carafes using a metallic gold Sharpie! They can be single use or can be washed and used again!
Now let's talk about the display for each guest, you have the carafes... and then you have a sweet and savory snack, a DIY coaster, a DIY cup and a DIY wine tasting notebook! I love something salty and sweet with my wine so we have truffle popcorn and dark chocolate covered pretzels, yummy!
