Keep the kiddos at your wedding busy and happy with these DIY Wedding Kids' Table Ideas! We've compiled some cute, fun ways to entertain the little ones, and made sure to include something for all ages. Games, toys, coloring, edible treats...so much fun you might even find the adults trying to snag a seat with the cool kids! Our free Wedding Kids' Table Printables help set the scene, and are designed in black and white so they will coordinate with any wedding palette. Take a peek below for details on how to recreate your own DIY Wedding Kids' Table!
The first step to creating a DIY Wedding Kids' Table is to make sure that it's easy to identify. To do that, we created a Printable Kids' Table Banner, then hung it on the wall behind the table. We used a paper chain to add color and a festive touch to the display, which grabs the kids' attention and lures them to the table. What's great about this backdrop idea is that the colors of the chain can be customized to match your wedding decor, and it's also very affordable to create. This Full Color Spectrum Paper Pack has a wide variety of paper colors to choose from, allowing you to pick and choose colors to match your palette.
A framed Printable Kids' Table Sign greets the kids as they arrive to the table, instantly making them feel welcome...and cool! We chose to use a double-sided frame so that the sign could be viewed from both sides of the table. If you decide to do this, too, simply print two signs and attach them together (face-out) using double-sided tape.
Our table decor was designed so that each kiddo had their very own special spot waiting for them at the table. We covered the table with White Fadeless® Paper, then used a Black Sharpie® Fine Point Permanent Marker to draw a placemat-sized rectangle at each seat. We wrote instructions inside each rectangle for the kids to draw a picture for the bride and groom and to write their name. After the wedding, the bride and groom can cut out the pictures that the kids drew and save them as a keepsake.
Inside each rectangle place marker we arranged some of the free Wedding Kids' Table Printables that we designed. Each place setting got a free printable Wedding Activity Book, a box of 8-Color Crayola® Crayons with a printable Crayon Box Wrap, and a Mini Organza Drawstring Treat Bag filled with candy then topped with a "Love is Sweet" tag.
Since floral arrangements are a popular centerpiece at weddings, we thought it would be fun to keep that tradition alive at the kids' table, but with a fun twist. We made our floral arrangements kid-friendly...and edible! We used the same Full Color Spectrum Paper that we used for the paper chain to create Lollipop Flowers.
To make the flowers, simply cut three heart shapes out of paper, then punch holes near the bottom point of each heart. Use a glue stick to connect the hearts together at the holes, creating a flower shape. Slide the stick of a Dum Dum® Lollipop through the united hole of the flower shape, then slide a Green Striped Paper Straw over the stick. Repeat until you have the number of flowers that you'd like, then arrange the flowers in Clear Square Vases filled with Iridescent Metallic Shred.
In addition to the coloring activities on the table, Block Tower Games were on the table for the kids to play. To give the games a little wedding glam-up, we used white chalk markers to draw hearts on some of the blocks.
To make sure that the kiddos didn't run out of things to do, we set up a bar cart full of goodies for the kids to play with. We filled Clear Square Pedestal Plastic Jars and Scalloped Plastic Containers with Light-Up Two-Tone Stretchy YoYos (these are fun!!!), Bright Mini Puzzle Cubes, Mini Rainbow Magic Spring Toys, Spring Brights Mini Bubble Bottles and Glow Necklaces. The free printable Toy Labels are included in the Wedding Kids' Table Printable Pack and are able to be edited to say whatever you choose to fill your containers with.
To make the kids' table even more fun, the kids each got to fill a bag with goodies to take home! We attached a printable Wedding Fun Bag Label to White Kraft Bags, then arranged the bags in a Bag Holder with more packs of Crayola® Crayons. The kids could play with the goodies at the wedding, then fill their bags and let the fun continue after they go home!
