Add rustic farmhouse charm to your living room with these easy decor ideas for a Farmhouse Mantel and Hearth Decor. Simple items to make your mantel stunning.
We moved into a new home and this beautiful mantel was one of my favorite features in the home. It is large and makes a statement. I have been struggling with decorating it. I wanted it to have a farmhouse feel and I love how it turned out. I can't stop looking at it as I walk by. Here are the details of how I styled this Farmhouse Mantel and Hearth Decor.
When it comes to big decor projects, I like to break things up into small vignettes. For some reason larger projects can overwhelm me unless I break them up.
First I started by decorating the hearth.
Let's start with the Letter Board. I love the idea of having a place to add a quote for my family to read and memorize. This one seemed to fit the place we are in life right now. With growing kids every day seems "a little bit crazy, a little bit loud" but there sure is "a whole bunch of love," mixed in with it all.
Then I added this large grass ball for a different texture and shape.
Across from the Letter Board, I have some vintage pillows and a White Lantern filled with Moss Rocks.
Next, I styled the mantel.
In the center of the mantel is the DIY Rustic Farmhouse Wreath that I made using 2 Large DIY Unfinished Wood Frame with Wire. Read more on how to make this DIY Rustic Farmhouse Wreath.
I love layering different textures and shapes. These Grey Distressed Wood Trays come in a set of 3 different sizes. It made it perfect to layer them in different ways.
I placed a Cotton Plant Wreath in front of the trays for that unexpected textured and shape.
Next, I layered these pretty white candlesticks and placed a medium and two small grass balls on them. I love adding green to a room. It just seems to give it life.
Then I used a special painting technique to paint the DIY Unfinished Wood Frame with Galvenized Metal and also the DIY Unfinished Wood Frame with Wire. You can find all the details over on DIY Rustic Magnet Board along with the Free Printable of the Watercolor Lavender.
This side is finished off with these Lavender Stems in these beautiful Ceramic Vases with Wood Trim. I love the wood trim on these!
And what mantel isn't complete without a garland? I fell in love with this Cotton Garland and think it adds the perfect finishing touch to my Farmhouse Mantel and Hearth Decor.
I just love the way it all turned out. It is a great everyday look that I can live with for a long time.
