A gift should be beautifully wrapped. If you’re going to take the time to pick out something creative and just perfect for your friends and family, you should put just as much thought into how you package it!
Each year, we pick a color palette and a new topper idea or two for the gifts under our tree. This year, I simply could not decide! So, we’ve got a metallic and neutral palette for the adults and a cheerful red and bold green for the kiddos! With all the inexpensive options available, I was able to snag all of my wrapping supplies to do seven unique gift wrapping ideas easily!

Create this gift by wrapping your gift in a contrasting color to your confetti but one that matches your Christmas décor. Place the confetti colors of your choice into a bowl and mix them together. Print and cut out letters for your message that will fit on your gift. Trace the letters and fill them in with Mod Podge® using a Sponge Paintbrush. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, sprinkle on your confetti. Once the Mod Podge® is dry, shake off the excess confetti. We used a Sharpie® Marker to add some extra fun to the bottom corner of the gift.

Go ahead and wrap your present in the solid green classroom paper. This paper is white on the other side, so a bonus 2-looks-in-1!
Dip a squared off foam brush – about 1″ wide in gold acrylic paint. Simply make four graduated stripes 1-2″ apart. Then paint an additional stripe vertically perpendicular to the horizontal lines of the tree. This should only be about 2″ long. Just enough to indicate a tree trunk.
Once the paint is dry from the tree, remove one star from the Gold Glitter Star Garland. It’s super easy to thread the star onto the Green Baker’s Twine since they are pre-slit as a garland. Simply thread and tie around the back.

Use a dot foam brush and acrylic paint to paint blobs of color onto matte finish white paper. We used white bulletin board paper. If you paint from the roll, you can make enough gift wrap for more than one gift. Once the paint is dry, draw simple triangle Christmas trees on top of each paint blob. Wrap your gift with the paper and wrap a length of pom-pom trim around the gift and secure with a dab of hot glue. Make a large pom-pom from yarn. You can learn how to make your own large yarn pom-pom here. Hot glue the yarn pom and a few large jingle bells to the gift.

These look pretty hard to make but if you have basic sewing machine skills, they are really fun and simple to make. With a pencil draw a large star onto the paper roll. We used bulletin board paper in Weathered Wood, White, Shiplap and Kraft paper. Fold the paper in half so that the star has two layers. With your sewing machine, sew on the outside of the drawn line making sure to place the gift inside the star pocket before completely sewing up the star.

Paint simple stripes on the white side of your wrapping paper using a foam brush. I used a gunmetal and gold acrylic paint mix. Wait for the paint to dry and use a complementing paint marker to create thin stripes parallel and perpendicular to the existing metallic stripes.
Create the topper. We used a simple little party favor tin and lined the clear lid with a little evergreen paint. We’re planning to put a few gold chocolate coins in the tin to add to the present! Plus, it looks like a little ornament on the package!
Finally, wrap the gift and ahdere the tin with some strong double stick tape or a little dab of glue!

Paint the wood beads with acrylic paint. Once the paint is dry, thread the beads, yarn pompoms and jingle bells onto yarn using a large eyed needle. Tie the yarn off to ensure the beads, etc do not fall off. Gather together the yarn bundles and tie them together. Attach the bundle to a wrapped gift using a length of washi tape. Glue sequins and tiny pompoms to the gift.

Give brown kraft wrapping paper a festive craft-inspired look with baker's twine. Wrap it around a package to create a traditional ribbon-style look or get creative by criss-crossing it or creating a Christmas tree look. If you want to add an extra holiday touch, add pom-poms, satin bows or sisal wreaths and trees, securing them with glue dots.

Apply a layer of acrylic paint onto an Unfinished Wood Slice. While the paint is drying, wrap your gift. We used our Shiplap Bulletin Board Paper to wrap our gift. Tie the package together with some navy satin ribbon and jute cording. Use hot glue to adhere the wood slice, jingle bell and Silver Glitter Feathers to your gift.

Measure and cut a piece of wrapping paper – white side up! Mix up a little neutral grey, and a couple of metallic paints and begin to apply casual brushstrokes with your paint brush to the paper creating a painterly effect. Once dry, wrap the present.
Decorate the nutcracker if you wish. We used a felt tip pen to apply buttons and a bow tie to ours! Wrap the nutcracker to the package using black and white baker’s twine.

Wrap your gift like normal but add some dimension by creating an easy Christmas Tree. Cut lengths of striped paper straws. Use hot glue to adhere the straws to the gift in a Christmas tree shape. Cut individual beads off of Metallic Beaded Necklaces and glue the to the tree as ornaments. Top the tree with a Glitter Star Shape.

Wrap your present with the green side of the paper and wrap it with red and white baker’s twine. Using your white paint pen.
Draw a simple antler shape in the corner of the present. You can make it as large as you like. I don’t get too fussy about the shape just a suggestive idea of antlers is great!
Add a little dab of glue near the base of the antlers. And glue a red Pom Pom to suggest Rudolph’s nose!

Wrap your present with the white side facing out. Tie black and white striped ribbon around the present in a tight knot. To make the holly, cut two 4×4″ squares and fold them in half.
Cut the edge of half the holly on the non-folded side. Unfold and apply a bit of glue just beneath the ribbon. Slide the paper leaf underneath and secure.
Add three glue dots to the top and ribbon where they intersect and apply three red pom pom balls and secure in place. Trim ribbon ends if needed at a nice angle.

Print and cut out the Santa Mug Tags onto a sheet of cardstock. Cut a slit at the top of the tag. Cut a length of ribbon and wrap the ribbon around one of the bag handles. Insert the ends of the ribbon into the slit and carefully push the tag towards the handles to secure. Don't forget to download your free printable Santa Mug Tags here or click the button below.

Traditional colors combined with classic Christmas symbols are always in style, but to give your wrapped gifts some extra holiday magic, begin with a kraft paper base and add merry little accents such as colorful satin ribbon, hand-painted wooden gift tags or little sisal trees and wreaths. Feeling quite festive? Try layering craft elements such as a burlap ribbon topped with satin ribbon and a small wreath.

Using the biggest brush from the Easel Paintbrush Set and acrylic paint to paint blobs of color onto kraft paper. To create the large blobs of paint, scoop of a fair amount of paint onto the wood tip of the paint brush and flick the paint onto the kraft paper. For small blobs, use the bristle end of the brush. If you paint from the kraft paper tablecloth roll, you can make enough gift wrap for more than one gift. Once the paint is dry, wrap your gift. We finished ours with navy satin ribbon, Silver Leaf shaped Ribbon and a decorated sisal tree.

Wrap your gift in some fun farmhouse gift wrap. Use navy satin ribbon to tie a Small Branch Wreath to your gift. To add some color, glue Green Leaf-Shaped Ribbon around the wreath.

Wrap your gift with the white side of the paper. Spray painting the horse ornaments with a nice coat of gold metallic paint.
Now make your baker’s twine tassel. Wind a 2.5″ loop of baker’s twine around your fingers and cut through one end of the loops.
Use a separate piece of twine to secure the loop at the top to create the “neck” of the tassel. Feed a longer piece of twine (long enough to tie around the present) to thread through the loop of the tassel and the eye hole on the gold horse. Glue three mini pom poms at the top of the tassel to add color.

We love brown kraft paper gift bags – especially since you can adorn them however you like! To create this winter wonderland snowflake look, cut a length of red satin ribbon and secure it to the bag with glue dots. Finish it by centering a painted wood snowflake on the ribbon and attaching it with an adhesive.
To create the Christmas banner bag, cut a length of Pennant Flag Ribbon Banner to fit the front of the gift bag. Use markers or paint to color the banner in traditional red and green – or whatever colors you choose! Once the banner is dry, use adhesive to attach it to the gift bag.

Print and cut out the free printable music sheet gift tag. Attach a jute cording bow and Gold Glitter Feathers to a Navy Paper Gift Bag. Finish the look with a Wooden Clothespin.

Pick out a joyful holiday statement or your favorite scripture and use simple lettering to letter it on the green side of the paper. Try to keep your letter forms on a straight line. You can use light pencil if you need to as a guide and fill in with a white paint marker. Take one of the unfinished wood tree ornaments and letter the year on it.
Tip: Spray with acrylic sealer to limit absorption and bleeding of the ink. Insert photo and tie on with a few wraps of baker’s twine.

Wrap your gift and tie it up with some ribbon. Add a cute ornament like our Hot Cocoa Holiday Mug Ornaments. Glue on a few jingle bells with hot glue to finish it off. Nice and simple!!
