My sons have always loved dinosaurs. With the big block buster movies and trips to the museums, they were all fascinated at one point in time . My youngest is currently obsessed with dinosaurs and science, so naturally we wanted to gather his friends together for a fun Dino-Mite Dino Playdate. With school now in session, playdates are more infrequent; so when the kids get together we want to make sure they have a great time engaged in imaginative play. I’m excited to share all the details from our playdate, so let’s get started!
Decorations: Even though we were only getting together for a playdate and not a party, I wanted to create a little themed area for the kids to play unplugged from electronics and away from distractions.
I started by hanging up a few Dino-Mite Pterodactyl Hanging 3D Decorations and set up a little reading nook with the Cool Colors Canopy and Large Blue Pillows.
I knew the boys would have tons of fun dressed up as Dinosaurs, so I hung a Dinosaur Tail and Dinosaur Hat on each chair.
The boys had a great time swinging their tails and roaring like fierce dinosaurs!
I knew the boys would definitely work up an appetite, so I set out Dinosaur cups and Erupting Volcanoes for them to refuel.
See how to make these fun and easy Erupting Volcano Cupcakes.
Playtime Activities: Kids can play for hours with action figures, so why not set up a stage for a Dino War? I set up a fun wooden sign on the table for the dino battle zone.
We played Dino-Mite Dino Walk. Get the details along with a free printable!
The kids also had a blast playing Feed the Dinosaur. Read the post for the full tutorial. Of course, you can't play games without a few little prizes!
The Realistic Dinosaur Grabbers and Dino-Mite Dinosaur Skeletons were a big hit!
