Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, and I especially love transforming my front porch into a spooktacular display ready to greet guests. I've always wanted to have a haunted inn theme, ever since I saw one featured in a magazine years ago, and this year I finally created the Leeson's Dead & Breakfast Inn. I am so excited about our Halloween porch this year and can't wait for trick-or-treaters to come knocking on our door.
Now that you have everything you will need its time to transform your yard into a graveyard of hospitality. I used and old desk and an old chair to create the reception area for our Dead & Breakfast Inn. I took my wood desk cubby shelf and placed it on top of the desk, so it was reminiscent of an old hotel mail slot. I put an old lamp with the Halloween Lampshade Topper next to the shelf. I added a vintage phone, and the printable Dead & Breakfast Check-In sign to our registration desk. Download the check-in sign for free here. Behind the reception desk is a handmade key rack for all of the keys to the creepy rooms at the Leeson's Dead & Breakfast Inn.
Every good hotel needs a skeletal and sinister desk clerk to help check guests in. Our spooky skeleton staff member sits at the reception area, with keys in hand, ready to welcome any overnight guests.
Speaking of guests, the Leeson's Dead & Breakfast Inn is thrilled to welcome Mr. & Mrs. Rot who are checking in for their honeymoon stay. It was love at first fright and they have pledged their love "till death do us part", now it's time for a hauntingly good time. They are checking in for a few nights before they head off on a mysterious adventure in Sleepy Hollow.
They brought all of their luggage, including their pet crow, and the skeletal concierge is delighted to help this ghastly couple with their things. To make the concierge's job even easier I made a DIY Haunted Luggage Cart to hold all of the peculiar bags.
To complete the look for our Dead & Breakfast Inn I made a DIY Dead & Breakfast Inn Sign for the porch. I surrounded it by foam pumpkins, lanterns, crows and spiders.
We can't wait for guest to visit and "check-in" at the Dead & Breakfast Inn! But, fair warning to all of our guests .... you can check in anytime you want, but you can never leave!
