Whether you whip up a handmade gift or dress up a purchased package with DIY details, these heartfelt Valentine's Day craft ideas dazzle loved ones and show them just how much they mean to you.

Carrie's centerpiece creation is a clever and budget-friendly way to add a heartfelt touch to any tabletop or a mantel. The Dream Green DIY blogger painted unfinished wood heart ornaments with acrylic paint in festive Valentine's Day colors, then glued white-painted mini wood hearts on top of them. She made a hanging loop for each heart out of natural jute cording, then strung the lightweight ornaments over branches gathered from her yard. A neutral ceramic vase set not only makes the colorful heart shapes pop, it can also be repurposed for every season!

Rachel of Lines Across created a bright and cheerful piece of DIY heart art using watercolor paints in warm, vibrant hues. She used a ruler and pencil to map out a grid on watercolor paper, then sketched out a heart shape and filled in its triangles using one paint color at a time. Preparing a jar full of pick-me-ups is the easiest way to warm a loved one's heart. Mariah of Giggles Galore filled a glass jar with sweet "I Love You Because" notes for her family, then attached a heart charm with a bit of lace ribbon and colorful baker's twine. She left it on the counter with a few blank cards so others could contribute love letters to the jar throughout the month.

Announce the holiday with a bang! These charming confetti poppers, made with cut cardstock, washi tape, and tissue paper, are a sweet way to surprise recipients with candy and trinkets. The Crafting Chicks blogger Nikkala, fashioned them by creating a tube shape from cardstock and rolling it up with tissue paper. She tied off one end with ribbon, then filled the tube with goodies. A few minutes is all that's standing between you and this DIY embellished gift idea. Shauna from Ella and Annie topped assorted gift boxes with DIY rosettes made from colorful paper. To make this project, simply draw a spiral on a square cut of paper (Shauna used 3 x 3", 4 x 4" and 5 x 5" squares), cut it out, and twist it around a pencil or nail. Fan out your "flower" shape, then use an adhesive dot to secure it to your package.

Make Carrie's cute coaster craft in a big batch for your all-time favorite valentines. The key to this reversable design is gluing two painted ceramic hearts together. The Dream Green DIY blogger used a foam brush and acrylic paint to splash the front and edges of one ceramic heart with a bright color. Repeat this step with white paint on a second ceramic heart, then join together with glue. Wrap a tea light candle with patterned metallic washi tape and place it on top of the dry coaster for a fancy, from-the-heart finish.

Gift a reminder of love with a hand-lettered canvas piece she'll love to enjoy all year long. Dawn scribbled on a plastic bag with markers and used it to transfer color to a water-brushed canvas. She let the canvas dry then hand-lettered her sentiment of choice with a gold Sharpie marker. She traced the text with glitter glue for an extra-sparkly touch. Genius!

Keep friends sweet on you this Valentine's Day with a cute candy-filled terrarium. Haeley from Design Improvised started with assorted glass jars and then filled them with small candy hearts, twisty lollipops, and trinkets. The best thing about this gift is it's entirely customizable, and the lidded jar or wine glass can be reused after the candy has been eaten.
