Setting the Table

Daisy 2

What is a Daisy Baby Shower without daisies? We found the sweetest little baby daisies at our local market and knew that they needed to be incorporated into our table decor.

We wrapped Quart Ball® Mason Jars in Yellow Gingham Paper from our printable collection, tucked some daisies inside, then finished the jars off with a white ribbon bow.

In lieu of a traditional tablecloth, we covered our table with a strip of White Floral Sheeting Backdrop to add texture and visual interest. We then arranged the floral-filled jars down the center of the table, along with some smaller arrangements in Clear Glass Bud Vases.

Each place setting at our table was anchored with a Natural Woven Placemat. We used the cutest shaped Daisy Paper Dessert Plates as the focal point of each setting and layered them on top of patterned Daisy Paper Dinner Plates for a charming display.

We love the classy look of this Modern Plastic Gold Cutlery, so we showcased it with some pretty white ribbon and arranged it atop Yellow Dinner Napkins to complement the golden hues in the plates.

Daisy Cupcake Picks were tucked inside patterned straws to create stirrers that would complement our party decor. We added the stirrers to Clear Stemless Plastic Wine Glasses and sat them upon Daisy Beverage Napkins to complete each place setting.

Creating the Backdrop

Daisy 8

For our Daisy Baby Shower, we wanted to create a special place where the mama-to-be could sit and open her gifts.

We are in love with the standing arched backdrops that are all the rage right now, but they aren’t exactly easy (or cost efficient) to make. With just a little thinking outside the box, we were able to create our own arched look with some unexpected, affordable supplies!

What You’ll Need:

The Arch

Daisy 9

Begin by laying the blue paper roll out on the floor and unrolling it to the desired length. Use a pencil to trace an arch shape at the top of the paper. To do this, with the blue side of the paper facing down, identify where you would like the arch to begin on the sides of the paper and mark each side with a pencil. Measure to find the center point between the two sides points and make a pencil mark to identify center.

Tie a string to the pencil that measures long enough to reach from your center point to the side points. Holding the end of the string securely at the center point and holding the pencil at the first marked spot on the side of the paper, move the pencil around to the opposite side of the paper in an arched motion, keeping the string pulled tightly, to create the arch line on the paper. Cut out with scissors.

Repeat this process with the yellow tablecloth roll, only this time draw half an arch, holding the pencil string securely at one of the side points as opposed to a center point. Use removable poster strips to adhere the arch shapes to the wall.

Cut equal-length strips of white vinyl twist and fold them in half to create petal shapes. Use clear tape to secure the “petals” onto the blue paper. Roll up a circle shape of yellow vinyl twist to create the center of a daisy and secure the end with tape. Apply a generous amount of permanent double-sided tape to the back of the yellow circle and adhere it to the center of the white petals to create the daisy.

The Balloon Garland

Daisy 10
To complement the arches and give our backdrop some dimension and texture, we added a fun balloon garland to the display. We wanted our balloons to have varying shades, so we double-stuffed them.

Double-stuffing balloons is basically just layering balloons inside each other to create different color tones when they are inflated. Our color combos included white inside white, yellow inside white and orange inside yellow.

Here's a step-by-step on how to create a balloon garland. Once you assemble your balloon garland, simply attach it to the wall using the fishing line and removable wall hooks.

Daisy Shower Desserts

Finger foods are a great treat to have available for the guests to enjoy while the mom-to-be opens her gifts. A selection of bite-sized goodies is a nice way to add variety to the dessert table and create a pretty display.

Our offerings included marigold-colored lemon macarons that we topped with miniature daisy blooms & Printable Appetizer Flags, as well as petit fours with yellow icing details.

Baby Shower Favors

It’s always a nice gesture to send guests home with little party favors to thank them for coming to celebrate with you, and it’s even sweeter when the favors coordinate with the theme!

Our Daisy Favor Boxes match the theme and our table decor beautifully and were the perfect container to house the goodies that we sent home with our guests.

Inside each box we included daisy seeds in Printable Daisy Seed Packets, a lemon macaron, and Clear Round Favor Containers topped with a Printable “Oh Baby” Label and filled with Yellow Sixlets® Chocolate Candy.

Thank You Notes

Daisy 17
Saying thank you just doesn’t go out of style. We included these Postcard-Style Thank You Cards in our printable collection to make it easy for mama to thank her guests for their generosity. She can quickly download the cards, get them written out, then all she’ll have left to do is sit back and wait for her baby to bloom!
