Swing on by and go bananas over this sweet and adorable Curious George birthday party! Everyone's favorite mischievous monkey comes to life in this brightly colored, polka dot-laden gender-neutral soirée. With banana-inspired sweets and treats, perfect party place settings and plenty of monkey details, this Curious George birthday party is a fantastic way to celebrate. So grab your yellow hat and get ready to monkey around by creating your own Curious George birthday party at home!
The Table:
We set the table with a Yellow Table Cloth to honor both the classic books themselves and of course, the man in the yellow hat. Running down the center of our table was a delightfully playful polka dot table runner.
The Place Settings:
Each place setting was a mix of adorable Bright Polka-Dotted Paper Party Plates topped with coordinating Mint, Yellow, Pink and Red Plates and of course, an adorable Monkey Dessert Plate.
The great part about this theme is the variety of party wear options. We created a second place setting look using classic Curious George imagery.
Curious George Dinner Plates were layered with Curious George Dessert Plates for this sweet and simple look.
To the right of each place setting sat a variety of beverage napkins in coordinating colors (Mint, Red and Pink) and served as the perfect location for the cutlery. We added in Banana Cutouts for a fun George-inspired spin.
Another napkins option includes Curious George Themed Napkins. We layered the Curious George Luncheon and Dessert Napkins without cutlery for this adorable look.
Each setting was adorned with a Clear Glass Milk Bottle with Red Striped Straw, Rickrack Trim and a Curious George detail.
Another adorable addition is these sweet Curious George Paper Cups!
Curious George-themed Sunglasses rested above each setting and added an extra fun aspect to the table.
To the left sat a yummy dessert fit for a monkey! A chocolate banana split-inspired ice cream treat was served up in Polka-Dotted Dessert Cups. Each scoop of chocolate ice cream was topped with fresh bananas, banana candies and a variety of color-coordinating Sixlet chocolates.
The Centerpiece:
In the center of our table sat a cake stand with banana-flavored cupcakes topped with Curious George detailing adhered to Paper Straws for custom cupcake toppers. Each cupcake was dressed in perfectly matching Cupcake Wrappers.
To each side of the cupcake stand sat custom Curious George-inspired floral arrangements. Yellow Favor Buckets were filled with White Peony Bouquets and dressed up with Curious George detailing.
The Backdrop:
To carry over even more polka fit fun, we used colored Paint Chip Circles to create a custom backdrop with some double-sided tape.
Paper Fans make for a quick and easy eye-catching backdrop. We mixed and matched a variety of Paper Fans for this playful and youthful touch.
Everyone knows that Curious George loves balloons, so we wanted to incorporate some small Balloon details in our backdrop as well!
The Buffet:
In the center of our buffet table sat more delicious treats! Yellow Favor Buckets were decorated with Rickrack Trim and Curious George detailing.
Each Bucket was filled with brightly colored Mint Napkins, fresh popcorn mixed with Chocolate Candies and delicious Yellow Swirl Lollipops.
On each side of the popcorn we served up delicious drinks in Curious George-Themed Paper Cups.
Overseeing the buffet was George himself, perched on a White Cake Stand.
George was even surrounded by miniature Curious George Bubbles!
Our guests loved making their own mischief by blowing bubbles at the party.
Lastly, as the party came to an end, guests made sure to stop by our Polka-Dotted Wooden Crate of Banana Plushies as a fun favor to take with them!
Wooden Crates were decorated with Polka Dots, Curious George detailing and of course, BANANAS!
Guests loved bringing home these darling Plushies as a super fun favor.
