So gear up and get ready for the best Construction Birthday Party ever!

A personalized, Printable Backdrop Poster and Little Handyman Cutouts create an authentic work station vibe and greet the kids as they arrive to the party. We've never seen construction workers so excited to get to work!

We crafted a table out of sawhorses and a large piece of plywood, then situated it in front of our backdrop. The table doubled as both the dessert & favor station as well as a place for the kids to check in before beginning their work day.

We mounted the printable "Gear Up" sign on a piece of red cardstock, then displayed it on a DIY Stained Wood Offset Plank Sign so the handymen would know what essentials they needed.

The kids referred to the sign, then gathered their gear for the day. We made the cutest DIY Tool Belts for each party guest prior to the party using Construction Tool Belts, Self-Adhesive Magnets and Printable Name Labels. The magnetic name labels attached right to the tool belts, making it easy for each child to personalize their belt.
We arranged the tool belts on the table along with Printable Hardware Boxes and Hardware, Color Your Own Tool Shapes and Bold Crayola® Cone Tip Washable Markers. The kids colored their tools, then tucked them inside their belts with a box of the printable "hardware."

Safety is a must on the job site! We added Hard Hat Labels to Kids' Construction Hats so that everyone had a hard hat to wear on the job.

Next, it was time for the little handymen to go to work! They all headed to the DIY Tool Shed, which happens to be our favorite element of this Construction Party!
We transformed a Color Your Own Welcome Playhouse into this absolutely adorable shed by covering it with Shiplap Backdrop sheets. We finished it off with a Printable Tool Shed Sign and Personalized Door Cover so that it would look like an authentic tool shed. Paint and tools were arranged outside the tool shed so the kids could get right to work when they arrived.
We tucked different colors of cardstock inside Paint Bucket Favor Containers to mimic paint, added Printable Paint Labels to the outside of each bucket, then put out some Sponge Paintbrushes so the kiddos could "paint" the shed.
We also added Printable Tool Box Labels to DIY Unfinished Wood Tool Boxes then filled them with Plush Tools so that the little handymen could make repairs to the shed.

The kids could also use the tools and hardware in their DIY Tool Belts to make repairs. The printable hardware has adhesive dots on the back, so the nails and screws could be adhered to the shed, then "installed" using the hammers, wrenches and screwdrivers that the kids colored at the beginning of the party.

Whew, fixing up that tool shed was a lot of work! Our party guests really worked up an appetite, so it was time for a snack break. Luckily we had some delicious birthday cake for them to enjoy!
The cake was topped with a Printable Cake Topper that was personalized with the birthday boy's age and "year established" (aka birth year).

We had a "Break Station" set up where the hardworking handymen could take a break and enjoy some snacks. Work hard, snack hard, right?

Instead of using a traditional tablecloth, we covered the break table with Fadeless® White Shiplap Bulletin Board Paper. We really love the rustic wood look that it gave the table, and it fit perfectly with our theme.
The center of the table was lined with more of the tool boxes and paint cans that we used for the kids to play with at the tool shed.

We built colorful place settings by layering Mimosa Yellow Dessert Plates on top of Turquoise Paper Dinner Plates, then attaching a Printable Plate Label to the dessert plates. We added Orange Luncheon Napkins and Lemon Yellow Plastic Forks to each setting, as well as a strip of Ruler Tape, which was a fun nod to the construction theme.

Each place setting was finished off with Mason Jar Cups with Lids & Straws and Building Block Sets. They were tied into our theme with Printable Mason Jar Labels and Favor Tags.

When the snack break was over, the kids returned to the tool shed for a little more play time...ooops, I mean work time. At the end of the shift, it was time for the handymen to head home.
Little Handyman Red Tool Box Treat Boxes were filled with goodies for the kids to take home with them as a reward for their hard work.

The little workers seemed to really enjoy their job, and we're pretty sure they felt like work was play. I hope this party has inspired you to build some memories for your own little handyman's next birthday!
