This year for Halloween we decided to skip traditional motifs and went for a more classic, styled approach. We incorporated layered metallic tablecloths, mood lighting, gold accents, and a few favorite Halloween characters that your party guests are sure to love. Creepy-Yet-Classic Color Scheme
First, start by choosing your color palette. To nail a vintage-inspired vibe, we decided on a black and white theme with warm wood tones scattered throughout. We also punctuated the party with tonal gray linens and pops of red thanks to rich red wine served from the dessert table.
Set A Romantic Foundation
We managed to get that tell-tale dark Halloween mood across thanks to three Pewter Metallic Polyester Tablecloths. One was ironed and laid across the entire table, while two more were bunched up across the center of both the dessert buffet and main table. Items were placed gently among the folds for an elegant look. We also added dried flowers to Pint Ball Mason Jars for an eerie finish perfect for Halloween.
Incorporate Mood Lighting
We can't talk Halloween without mentioning mood lighting, now can we? Rather than risk open flames around wine-wielding guests, we opted to keep things simple and fuss-free with battery-operated candles instead. We added Black Metal Lanterns outfitted with Battery-Operated Round Flameless Candles to the dessert table, and White Cutout Dots Candle Holders were placed on the main table set with Halloween-appropriate Black Battery-Operated Votive Candles.
Cast Of Halloween Characters
With our romantic, slightly-spooky mood set, it was time to turn our attention to really bringing the Halloween theme home. To do that, we found ways to introduce characters all across the party from Gold-Dipped White Pumpkins and Mini Vintage Halloween Ceramic Plates on the dessert buffet, to Vintage Halloween Vertical Signs and Hanging Decorations floating from the walls. You might have also noticed our spooky silhouettes! Those are a DIY (free printable templates included!), and you can click here to find out how to make your own. We also added Vintage Halloween Pillows to the chairs and floor around the party area, and placed things like Vintage Halloween Dinner Napkins, Eyeball Orbs, and a Vintage Halloween Centerpiece on the main table itself, too.
Finish With Practical Serving Pieces
Of course, no party is complete without all the right plates and serving ware, so we made sure to overthink and have lots of options for everyone. A Large Galvanized Tray With Handles was used to corral a set of Clear Patterned Champagne Flutes and a Clear Plastic Wine Carafe filled with red wine for the creepy occasion (grab the free printable wine tags here!). A White Cake Stand took care of serving a dark chocolate cake, while Silver Plastic Plates nearby allowed guests to serve themselves. Wood Patterned Chargers and Premium Metallic Gold Cutlery on the main table helped incorporate those wood tones established by the DIY wood round silhouette art on the wall by the dessert buffet.
When it comes down to it, this romantic-yet-classic Halloween party is one your guests are guaranteed to swoon over come All Hallows' Eve. Want to know the best news of all? The decorations can be used year after year, and, if you subtracted the Halloween characters from the mix, everything else can be used for a romantic gathering no matter what season it is!
