If you love a festive holiday home, your Christmas tablescape plays big part in setting the scene. It's easier than you might think to set a table that looks oh-so-merry for Christmas – but did you know you can make just a few simple switches to create a dazzling New Year's Eve table as well? It's true! Get inspired with this Christmas tablescape idea and then see how you can switch it up to create an impressive New Year's Eve tablescape idea.
The base for this holiday tablescape starts with a white table cover, topped with Grey Gauze Table Runners across the width of the table and a Black and White Striped Table Runner down the center of the table, crossing over the grey table runners. If you have a large table, you'll need to use more than one striped table runner - just overlap them. Now we'll add decorative accents down the center. So fun!
The Center Display
Flip acrylic risers over and fill them from the bottom with a mix of Mirrored Ball Ornaments and Disco Ball Hanging Decorations. You can even add in some silver glitter ornaments if you like.
Use whatever amounts and combinations of ornaments you like to create the look you want. Place them in the center of the table runner, leaving a little space for other decorative accents.
Next, fill the base of Gold Geometric Terrarium Candle Holders with Diamond Rhinestones - just a few handfuls should be fine! Tuck votive candle holders into the terrariums, nestling them in the rhinestones. Place the finished terrariums along table runner. It's looking so festive!
Now we get to fill in the center display with lots of merry flair! Top the acrylic risers with White Sisal Bottle Brush Christmas Trees and DIY Unfinished Wood Christmas Tree Stand-Ups. Add more bottle brush trees here and there, along with Bold Christmas Tree Centerpieces and a variety of candleholders.
We used Gold Electroplated Votive Candle Holders and Gold Geometric Candle Holders. Of course you'll want to have plenty of battery-operated tealight candles on hand to add to your candle holders!
The Place Settings
The ends of the grey gauze table runners will now act as the base for your place settings. Place a Gold Metallic String Placemat at each place setting, and then top each one with a Black Laser Cut Charger. We've chosen to use DIY Natural Tea Towels as napkins (they work perfectly!), so fold each one into thirds before placing them on top of the black chargers.
Be sure to leave the ends dangling down the side of the table. Once the napkins are in place, top them with a Premium Black & White Plastic Dinner Plate and a Gray & Gold Geometric Paper Dinner Plate. Finally, add Gold Premium Plastic Cutlery to each place setting. So festive!
To the upper right of each place setting, add a Gold Rimmed Plastic Wine Glass and a Metallic Plastic Champagne Flute. This drinkware adds so much charm to your table, even if you're serving water or juice. The champagne flutes can even serve double duty as place cards! Simply hand-letter names onto DIY Unfinished Wood Tree Ornaments and then tie them, along with Mini Snowflake Glass Ornaments, onto the flutes.
Ready to transform this same table into a New Year's Eve party table? Let's do it!
New Year's Eve Table
To create a New Year's Eve table, you'll just need to make a few swaps. To make things easy, we will use the same table cover, table runners, chargers, gold-rimmed wine glasses and cutlery.
You can also leave the ornament-filled risers and candles in place, but remove the bottle brush trees and tree stand-ups.
Instead, add a Disco Ball Hanging Decoration to the top of each riser, along with a stack of Metallic Cone Hats. (You can easily make this party hat decoration by using glue dots to create fun stacks of hats. Ta-da! Totally Pinterest worthy!)
Stick a few Bright Foil Picks into the candle terrariums, and place one in each wine glass, as well. (If that doesn't look like a party just waiting to happen, I don't know what does!) Tuck Gold Calligraphy Table Numbers into the center of your table to represent the New Year's Eve countdown, and then scatter Pink Confetti among your centerpiece and add a few party hats and Disco Ball Necklaces, with the cord removed, here and there.
To complete the place settings, add a New Year's Eve Neon Dots Paper Dinner Plate to each stack of chargers. Place a Teal Patterned Plastic Champagne Flute beside each gold-rimmed wine glass, along with a Yay Cocktails Beverage Napkin.
Of course, Champagne Cork Place Card Holders are a must for this party table!
Now that the table is set, you can add some festive touches to the rest of the room, too. Bunches of Gold Confetti Latex Balloons held in place with silver metallic balloon weights are always a good idea, and a DIY New Year's Eve Wreath hung near a table of New Year's Eve party favors (like this Get the Party Started New Year's Eve Party for 25) is total New Year's Eve perfection!
