Each Christmas I look for ways to bring Christ into our Christmas. We discovered that the best way to do this is to plan and hold a week focused on celebrating a Christ-Centered Christmas. If you are looking for some great ways to bring Christ into your Christmas here are a couple ideas you can use. Use the free printables to help you and your family come up with a plan.
Print of the Free Printable, Our Family's Christ Centered Christmas Plan, and make time for your family to be together to fill it out.
Fill out the "Our Family's Christ Centered Christmas Plan," together as a family. We like to do this Sunday nights. We gather together and discuss what our plan for that week should be. Everyone gives ideas and shares what they think we should do. If we have a special concert or party we add that in as well and find a way to make that center around Christ.
Find ways to serve. Here are some ideas that we love to do as a family: Make these yummy Christmas Swirl Cookies and deliver them to friends and family.
Prepare to do the 12 Days of Christmas for someone who might be lonely or need some service. We have a list of 5-7 different homes that we like to deliver these bags to each year.
Plan a night for the family to gather together and read the story of Christ's birth. Click “download template” button under the materials list to get the free My Nativity printable and a nativity. Using the nativity will make the story come to life for children.
Here are a couple more ideas:
- Find a Sub-for-Santa program and shop together as a family.
- See what programs are happening in your community.
- Buy gift cards and walk around a store handing them out to people that look like they could use them.
The ideas are endless and so is the happiness you will feel as you serve others. So gather your family together and find ways that you can bring Christ into your Christmas!
