Black, white and gold is such a classic and versatile color palette for weddings, offering up a myriad of design choices.
We designed this New Year's Eve wedding with a classy and chic vision in mind, while still exuding a playful touch, as it is a night of celebrating the incoming new year as well.
A large balloon garland consisting of black, white and gold balloons hung over our "celebration table" and definitely screamed party time! Bits of gold, white and black foil fringe hung down here and there for an added touch of glam.
Chic Black and White Tablescape
Black and white pieces were the main focus of the reception tables, with subtle touches of gold and silver sprinkled in for a pinch of sparkle. Gold Star-Shaped Confetti and disco ball ornaments added the perfect amount of playful charm to the tables.
A length of sheer white fabric was laid down the center of each table, which softened the look of the decor.
Copper candle holders were spray painted flat black for a modern touch and flanked each side of a gorgeous white floral centerpiece.
Beautiful white roses, anemones, and peonies, tucked into a Clear Cylinder Jar that we spray painted white for a milk glass effect, served as the centerpiece for each of the tables.
The floral arrangements performed double duty and acted as table numbers as well. Clock face table numbers were hot glued to bamboo skewers and inserted into the center of each.
The Table Settings
If there was ever an occasion for a glam place setting it would be a New Year's Eve wedding!
We cannot get over how chic the gold and white paper plates looked when layered upon the black and gold bordered plastic dinner plates!
Black linen napkins, knotted in the center like a bow, crowned the top of each plate.
Gold stemmed champagne flutes were perfectly paired with black patterned wine glasses for a sophisticated look that seamlessly coordinated with the rest of the decor.
The bottom portion of our gold hammered cutlery were spray painted flat black for a sophisticated modern touch. Be sure to tape off the top portion of the cutlery to ensure it remains food-safe!
Charming and fun Midnight Kiss Kits were placed in the center of each place setting to ensure each guest was primed for midnight salutations! Chocolate Kisses® were tucked into each box for those attending the wedding sans date. You can find the steps to create your own New Year's Eve Midnight Kiss Kits, along with the free printable tags, here.
DIY Bud Vase Place Cards not only indicated guests' seat assignments but were a sweet take home gift for each guest as well.
The gold glitter added to the stars provided the perfect amount of glitz to each of the vases. You can find the steps to create your own here.
Find Your Seat and Make Some Noise!
We ensured the reception got off with a bang and announced the fun ahead by creating Party Horn Escort Cards! An acrylic sign was painted to coordinate with the color palette and announced the bride and groom's hashtag. Party horns and straws, tied to mini bottles of bubbly with Gold Sparklet Ribbon, sat atop Gold Dot Clear Serving Trays by table number.
Free printable escort tags were tied to each of the bottles bubbly with a simple Gold Baker's Twine bow. Be sure to get the details to create your own Party Horn Escort Cards here.
Even if you serve wedding cake earlier in the evening, roll out a sampling of sweets post-ball drop to satisfy everyone's late-night hunger! Simple cupcakes topped with stars and sparkly gold bits are sure to please the crowd. An additional arrangement of white blooms was placed in a gold hurricane vase atop a white candle holder for height next to our cupcakes for an elegant touch.
Celebration Station
As the night progresses and inches towards the midnight hour, guests were encouraged to load up with party regalia! An array of festive items looked dashing when displayed together on our chic gold sequin fabric laden table.
The left side of the table held a short pedestal jar full of Gold, Black and Silver Bead Necklaces, along with top hats which rested on a Large Clear Cylinder Jar that was filled with Gold Metallic Shred.
Gold confetti wands were dressed up with gold glitter ribbon and tied with "toss me at midnight" printable tags, which you can download here and placed into a Clear Cylinder Jar for guests to pop at midnight.
A white hammered decorative bowl was the perfect size to corral "Happy New Year" tiaras.
Gold risers were used to provide height and dimension to the table. A chic arrangement of white blooms looked right at home in a Wide White Ceramic Vase with Gold Trim in the center of the table.
NYE Gold Glitter Star Headbands rested on a Large Clear Cylinder Jar that was filled with disco ball ornaments next to a stack of Happy New Year party hats.
Additional party horns and blowers were kept within reach in a short pedestal jar, along with a plethora of Happy New Year necklaces, which were displayed in a Clear Cylinder Jar. There was definitely a little something for everyone to be found on the celebration table!
As the night wound down into the wee hours of the new year, guests left happy and full of positive resolutions for the new year ahead.
