A casino-themed party is an interactive way to celebrate any occasion whether it's a birthday, prom night or just a get-together for adults. Game nights are fun by nature, but even MORE so with a little creative twist! So ante up and let the good times roll at this Casino Night Party!
For over a year now we have been getting together with a group of friends for a monthly themed dinner party. We've had everything from a fiesta to a Cuban themed night in Havana, but this month I decided to switch things up and host an interactive casino-themed party where the only stakes that mattered were having fun.
My husband loves playing poker and while I am truly a gambling novice, it was fun to get a taste of Vegas with a VIP casino night party full of card games, yummy treats and cash prizes.
I started by setting up a VIP area where guests could help themselves to snacks and treats. I covered a wall with Fadeless Black Paper. Next, I spray painted the Light Up Marquee Letters that spelled out CASINO with red spray paint and added them to the wall. You can attach the Marquee Letters to the Fadeless Black Paper with hot glue or Command® hooks.
I wanted to add a big statement, after all I was trying to channel my inner Vegas, so I created a colorful balloon garland with red, silver, black, gold and blue balloons. I added in some of the empty dice favor boxes to complete my casino-themed balloon garland.
After creating the perfect backdrop it was time to finish out the dessert table. I used a Red Tassel Garland and hung it from the front of the table. I then layered it with a DIY playing card garland.
Next, I filled jars with popcorn and casino buttermints for guests to snack on. Trays of sweet snacks, chocolate poker chip candy, dice lollipops, cupcakes, and DIY Dice Cake Pops rounded out the dessert table.
Once everyone is finished snacking you can move the dessert table out of the way for an instant photo booth backdrop where guests can snap their own VIP selfies. Don't forget to hand out the Casino Photo Stick Props!
As I mentioned, this party was part of our monthly supper club dinner parties so I set the table for our guests to enjoy a Vegas-style meal of prime rib, shrimp cocktails, and martinis. I used a black tablecloth and layered it with one of the black and white stripe table runners. I scattered playing cards, poker chips and Square Dice Favor Containers down the table runner to complete the look.
Each place setting featured layered plates, DIY Card Napkin Holders and cups with personalized playing card wine glass charms to help everyone keep track of their drinks.
Once dinner was over it was on to the fun and games! In addition to traditional casino games like poker, Texas hold em' and craps we also had a DIY Dart Poker Game going. Guests could buy 5 darts for $6 and at the end of the night, the player with the best 5 card hand won the pot. This was so much fun and a great activity for guests that didn't want to play poker at the table or lost their money early on in the night.
This was such a fun party, and we didn't even have to go all the way to Vegas to have an unforgettable night with friends. Here's the DEAL...I highly recommend planning a casino night party for your next celebration, that's right go all in and have fun!
