Candy Themed Birthday Party

Candy Themed Birthday Party

If you're looking for a sweet celebration then you've come to the right place! Bring your sweet tooth and come check out our Candy Themed Birthday Party! As the backdrop sign suggests, this party is full of lollipops, gumballs and candy galore…lots of sweet fun, birthday wishes and more! To help you pull this party together in no time, I've also designed a full Party Printables Pack, created step-by-step tutorials of how to assemble a Candy Charcuterie Board and make a DIY Backdrop of oversized candies.

Full candy party backdrop and tablescape

When I was first envisioning this party I knew I wanted it to be really cheery and bright with a color palette of yellow, red, pink and teal. It goes without saying that a Candy Themed Birthday Party absolutely has to have a ton of candy and sweets too! Also, I wanted the party to feel very whimsical and imaginative. With that in mind, I quickly realized that making huge oversized wrapped candies and giant strips of candy buttons would be the perfect decor for this party.

I first started by designing the invitation and backdrop sign for the party. I made sure to incorporate the color palette and candy illustrations that were a nod to the backdrop that I was dreaming up in my head. I think it would be so fun for guests to receive this invitation prior to the party and then see it "come to life" in a BIG way at the party!

To display the DIY oversized candies, I decided to flank the back table with a strip of candy buttons on both the left and right sides. To do this I propped the White Foam Boards against the wall using two low side tables. Then, I hung the wrapped candies and Pool Noodle candy sticks to the wall using clear fishing line. I also incorporated Hip Hip Hooray Mini Banners and the free printable backdrop sign in and around the large DIY candies. I love how all of the giant whimsical candies surrounded the back table!

On a low side table I also placed a Handblown Glass Apothecary Large Jar with Lid that I filled with Large Shimmer Yellow Gumballs, Large Shimmer Pink Gumballs, Yellow Salt Water Taffy Candy, Light Green Swirl Lollipops, Pink Mini Twisty Lollipops and Yellow Mini Twisty Lollipops.

On the table itself, I displayed Hip Hip Hooray Food Cups with Gold Chocolate Coins and Hip Hip Hooray Paper Ice Cream Cups with Yellow Gummy Bears, Red Gummy Bears and Assorted Buttermints. I also incorporated Gumball Machine Toy Banks, as well as Half-Gallon Cylinder Jars filled with Yellow Hard Candy Discs, Pink Salt Water Taffy Candy, Yellow Salt Water Taffy Candy and Peach Gummi Ring Candy. Also, the Glass Jar Set was filled with Sixlets® Sparkling Mint Green Chocolate Candy, Sixlets® Sparkling Bright Pink Chocolate Candy and Sixlets® Shimmer Yellow Chocolate Candy.

Our candy charcuterie board was the perfect centerpiece on our main table! Not only was it a delight for the eyes, it was so delicious too! My boys were completely in love with the sight of all of the sweets. I am a big fan of charcuterie boards because they always contain a selection of a lot of things so everyone at the party will find something that they love. I arranged our selection of candy on the Gold Round Plastic Serving Plate and placed it on top of the Gold Shimmer Burlap Table Runner. Then I filled Candy-Shaped Favor Containers and Mini Plastic Candy Containers with Lid with assorted treats and placed them on the runner as well.

For the place settings on our main table, I layered Bright Polka Dot Paper Dinner Plates under Hip Hip Hooray Paper Dessert Plates. The dessert plates were so cute with the 4 different sayings and they became such a fun addition to the table. Then I added Cream Polka Dot Dinner Napkins and Red Plastic Cutlery.

I had to send all of our party guests home with some treats for the road. I filled a Red Favor Box with goodies and then attached the free printable thank you tag. Now that's a sweet sendoff!
