Create simple, colorful wrapped candy to hang in your trunk using paper lanterns! Assemble the lanterns and wrap them in clear cellophane. Gather the cellophane on either side of the lantern and tie a length of White Satin Ribbon to hold the cellophane in place. To hide the ribbon, wrap it with Neon Washi Tape. Use fishing line to hang the candy paper lanterns in your trunk.

Large, wrapped candy sticks are actually made with pool noodles! Simply wrap Pink Duct Tape around a pool noodle in a spiral pattern. Cut down the pool noodle into three sections and wrap each section in clear cellophane. Gather the cellophane on either side of the pool noodle and tie a length of White Satin Ribbon to hold the cellophane in place. To hide the ribbon, wrap it with Neon Washi Tape. These pool noodles can easily be hung in your trunk using fishing line.

Begin decorating your Candy Land Trunk by lining the inside of your trunk with a Pink Plastic Tablecloth Roll and decorating the bumper with a White Plastic Table Skirt. Stack Bright Colorful Buckets in the trunk to represent candy gumdrops.

To make the Candy Land inspired road, unravel various colors of paper rolls and adhere different colored paper together to create a makeshift game board. For our road, we used a yellow paper roll for the base and adhered red, purple and green paper rolls onto it.

The project that makes the biggest impact is the candy-inspired trunk. To create two giant candy canes we covered the vertical part of two 6ft marble-look fluted columns with White Paper. Next, we cut a strip of red paper and adhered it around the column. To add extra dimension, we also ran a strip of red masking tape in between the larger stripes. We spray painted the tops and bottoms of the column structure and put the columns together at our Trunk or Treat venue.

To create the arch top, cut a piece of white foam core in half. Overlap the white foam core panels and wrap them in Light Pink Organza and pink tulle. Hot glue the ends of the fabrics to the back of the panel to secure in place. Download the free CANDYLAND letters here. Print and cut out the letters then adhere them to cardstock. Glue the letters and Tiny Pom-Poms to the panel. Place the completed candy-striped pillars on either side of your trunk and place the Candy Land panel on top of the pillars. Don't forget to download the free printable candy land letters here.

Making this wrapped candy garland is easier than it looks. Simply assemble mini lanterns in an array of colors. We used red, orange, turquoise, lime green, purple and light pink. Wrap white tulle around a lantern and gather the tulle on either side of the mini lantern. Tie a length of White Satin Ribbon to hold the tulle in place. Repeat this step until you have a long garland. Drape the garland around the candy-striped columns to create a fun and colorful accent.

The oversized cotton candy cones are probably our favorite DIY for this entire set-up. The awesome thing is that they are pretty simple to make as well! Cut out a large circle from a piece of scrap cardboard. We cut our circle to be about 18" in diameter. Use hot glue to adhere an upside down Bright Colored Bucket to the center of the cardboard circle. Glue the end of a Light Pink Tablecloth Roll to the top of the cardboard circle and wrap the tablecloth roll around the bucket until it forms a cotton candy shape. Tie the end of the tablecloth roll into a knot and glue it to the cotton candy. Glue the end of a roll of Pink Tulle to the bottom of the cardboard circle and wrap the tulle around the cotton candy. Tie the end of the tulle into a knot and glue it to the cotton candy. To finish the oversized cotton candy cone, hot glue a Large Styrofoam Cone to the top of the cotton candy heap and voila, you're done!

For the final DIY project of this Candy Land trunk, we made a sweet sucker forest. To make the sucker forest, we sandwiched a Plastic Balloon Stick or piece of PVC pipe in between two bright colored plastic dinner plates, gluing the edges of the plates together with hot glue. Wrap the paper plates with clear cellophane and gather at the bottom of the paper plate. Tie a length of White Satin Ribbon to hold the cellophane in place. To hide the ribbon, wrap it with Neon Washi Tape. Drill holes into a Bright Colored Bucket. Insert the PVC pipe and balloon sticks into the holes and use hot glue to hold them in place.

Even with potential social distancing measures in place with your trunk or treat this year, there are lots of ways to make trunk or treat fun and safe for everyone! Build stanchions to keep distance between cars and encourage social distancing. To make your own stanchions, fill galvanized pails with gravel. Place a garden stake in each pail and then slide a black craft noodle over each one. Finish your stanchions by pushing a foam pumpkin over the top of each garden stake. You can now tie plastic streamers from one stanchion to another to create dividers to use between cars or to mark social distancing areas. In addition, volunteers who are handing out candy can use grabbers to avoid picking up the candy and also wear Halloween themed face masks to help keep everyone safe. Remember to have some hand sanitizer available so it's easy for everyone to keep their hands clean.
