5 Summer Storage Solutions for Bulletin Boards

5 Summer Storage Solutions for Bulletin Boards

I don't know about you, but I have an overwhelming amount of bulletin board materials. I have so many bulletin board borders, every color of poms and fans, and bulletin board sets galore! At the end of the year, when I take all my pretty boards down, I don't know what to do with all my supplies. Over the past few years, I have come up with five tips to help with the dreaded summer packing.

I have a confession to make. I have enough borders to cover every bulletin board in my school. Twice Over. They are my weakness. So with that being said, I had an entire cubby full of borders. They were all mixed together, and didn't have a good way to find what I was looking for. So when I found the Carson-Dellosa Border Storage, I didn't just buy one, I bought two. It has five pouches, and you could fit probably two, or three border sets per pouch! Now, all my borders are organized.

When I am about to turn the lights off in my classroom for the summer, I have one final item on my To-Do list. I know that when I come back to school in August, okay let's be real, July, one of the first things I will want to do is put together a bulletin board. So I pack a "go" box. In it, I put all my supplies I will need to start off the year. I will put together tape, a stapler, an exacto knife, Glue Dots, Mavalus® tape, and a hot glue gun. I put them in a Small Clear Locking Storage Bin, then I'm ready to go!

I recently have discovered that I love all things 3-D for my bulletin boards. I got a set of Clear Locking Storage Bins and I put all of my fans, poms, and lanterns in them. A lantern that folds accordion style fits just perfectly in the medium sized storage bin! I also organize my fans and lanterns by color to make these items easily accessible. That way if I am working on a bulletin board, I can just grab one container, instead of having to go through all my supplies.

Sometimes when I take down a bulletin board, I know that I want to use it again the next year. My Calendar Wall is one of those. When I took down my calendar area, I knew that I would want to have easy access to it in the fall. I used the Medium Book Storage Pouches and it was perfect to store parts of my calendar wall. Not only will I be able to know exactly where it is this fall, but I know it will be protected.
