Bulletin Board Design Challenge

Bulletin Board Design Challenge

We were lucky enough to have 11 teachers join us in our local photo studio to style three different bulletin boards. This bulletin board design challenge took place while our contributors were in Omaha, NE for our Blogger Conference especially for teachers. Each team picked their supplies ahead of time, came up with design ideas, and then had approximately three hours to style their boards. Here are the amazing designs they created. Be sure to download the Free Cactus Printable and Pineapple Printable!

Team 1: Cactus-Themed Board

To create this perfect and prickly bulletin board, start with Polka Dot Paper to make a background. Put together a color palette of green shades, pinks, black, and white with various supplies like paper fans, lanterns, and tissue paper decor. At the beginning of the year, print out these Free Cactus Printables to act as place holders before students create their own work. Hang them with clothespins connected to Baker's Twine. Add texture and interest by incorporating paper fans and tissue pom-poms into the board. Our teachers created their own 3D cacti by adding Paper Lanterns, Flutterball Tissue Decor, and Orange-Tipped Tissue Pom-Poms together. Shop the items you'll need to make this board here. Team 2: Pineapple Bulletin Board

This super sweet pineapple-themed bulletin board combines two trends; rustic wood elements and bright, bold pineapple cutouts! What's our favorite part of this board? The giant fringe pineapple! Clothespins attached to our Pineapple Garland is a perfect way to display student work throughout the year. Download the Free Sweet Work Coming Soon Printable here. A color palette of pinks, oranges, white and black make this bulletin board feel fresh and vibrant. Fun flamingos act as place holders until student work is ready to be featured on the board. Lots of overlapping borders and cut-outs create layers on this board while still making it organized. We love how these flamingos add a small 3D element to this board. They are actually hanging party decorations our teachers cleverly repurposed!
