This Spring break I challenge you to create some fun Spring crafts with your kids! We made Spring bugs for a clothespins kids craft and then turned them into magnets to hold artwork from our kiddos school! I don’t know about you but I am always running out of magnets to display my kids artwork. These Spring bug magnets will add fun and color to your fridge. Rather than just occupy more space they will be a great tool too!

Begin by coloring the clothespin red and add dots with the black sharpie. 1-2 coats should do. Let the marker dry for a few minutes. Just twist the clothespin to the side so you are able to color the inside. They are super flexible. Cut a small circle from red foam or construction paper to make the wings. Cut the circle in half. Add black dots to the red wings and glue them to the body of the ladybug. Grab a black pom-pom and glue two googly eyes to it. Glue the head onto the body of the ladybug, in front of the wings you just attached. Cut a small piece of black chenille stem and bend the ends in towards the middle to create the antennas. Glue to the back of the head. Set aside.

Begin by coloring the clothespin green. Then choose 3-4 of the glitter pom-poms to make up the body, making sure the head is green. Glue the colorful poms to the green clothespin. Add the eyes to the green glitter pom with glue. Set Aside.

Begin by coloring the clothespin hot pink, add some of the self-adhesive jewels. Glue on two googly eyes to a pink pom-pom. Attach the pink pom to the clothespin with glue. Cut two small pieces of pink chenille stem to make the butterfly antennas. Glue antennas to the back of the butterfly head. To make the wings, form a bow with the pink chenille stem and trim the stem. Hot glue wings to the body of your butterfly.

Begin by coloring the clothespin yellow. Then take the black sharpie and draw stripes across the body. Add a black pom-pom for the head. Attach the googly eyes. Cut two small strips of a black chenille stem for the bees antennas. Hot glue to the back of the bees head. Repeat the same steps for the butterfly wings to add black wings to your bee.

Lastly, we are going to add some magnets to each clothespin bug. I used the dot magnets. I trimmed off each side of the circle magnet to match the width of the clothespin. I then used hot glue to secure the magnet to the bottom of the clothespins.
