Ladybug Headband Craft
Spring and summer is the perfect time for kids to learn all about colorful little insects, like ladybugs. After learning about and discovering little bugs outdoors, kids will love spending the afternoon indoors making this adorable ladybug headband.
To make your ladybug headband, staple the ends of the two red headband pieces together. Then glue the ladybug head, spots and some super huge googly eyes onto your headband with an extra strength glue stick. Use a white crayon to draw a smile on the ladybug.
Wrap the ends of two black chenille stems around your finger to create curled insect antennae. Tape the antennae on the back of the headband, behind the ladybug face. Then bend the red paper strips into a circle and staple the two ends together to finish creating the ladybug headband.
Bee Headband Craft
These cute bee headbands are a fun way to bring some of the summer season indoors. They are super easy for preschoolers and kids of all ages to make, and kids will have so much fun pretending to be a bee after making their headband.
To make your bee headband, glue each of the black bee stripes on your yellow cardstock headband pieces. Then follow the same steps as you did to create your ladybug headband. Staple the ends of the yellow headband pieces together and glue the bee template pieces on your headband with the exception of the wings.
After drawing a smile on your bee with a crayon, tape two black chenille stem antennae on the back of the headband. Bend the yellow paper strips into a circle and staple the ends together to create your headband. Then glue a bee wing on each side of the headband.
Butterfly Headband Crafts
One of the best parts about creating this butterfly headband is that kids have the option to mix and match the colors of their choice when creating their colorful butterfly.
To make your butterfly headband, staple the ends of the colored cardstock headband strips together. Glue the butterfly head on the headband and a pair of super huge googly eyes. Use a crayon to draw a smile on the butterfly. Then tape two chenille stem butterfly antennae on the back of the headband, behind the butterfly head.
Decorate each of the butterfly wings by gluing the cardstock paper spots from the template on them. Bend the headband paper strips into a circle and staple the ends together to create your butterfly headband. Glue a butterfly wing on each end of the headband.
Your insect headbands are all ready for play! Kids simply place a headband on their head and then have fun buzzing around and pretending to be busy little insects.
