Winter weddings have always been some of our favorites to style. There's just such a sense of romance that comes with the season. And when you add in our favorite buffalo plaid pattern to this seasonal event, it's pretty much a match made in winter wedding heaven! This wedding features a mix of rustic, natural wood and winter greenery alongside a touch of mixed metal decor, making this Buffalo Plaid Wedding both a modern and classic event that your guests are sure to adore.
The Invitation:
Set the tone of your wedding by sending out these gorgeous, Personalized Buffalo Plaid Invitations. These were so simple to customize and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. We displayed ours on a Buffalo Plaid Wooden tray surrounded by Evergreen clippings and Pine Cones. The Table:
We set our table with a White Rectangular Linen and made a wide table runner from a Faded Wood Paper Roll similar to this wood paper. We added a winter, greenery garland down the center of the table to bring in a bit of that Evergreen feel. We added a few decorative Pine Cones and red berries to the garland for some added color and texture.
One of our favorite ways to bring romance to a table is by adding in various sizes of candles. We incorporated White Taper Candles in Clear Round Taper Candle Holders, Round Flameless Candles and votive candles held in Silver Mercury Glass Tealight Holders, Buffalo Plaid Votive Holders and Silver-Flecked Mercury Votive Holders. We fell in love with the little, Buffalo Plaid Votive Holders and can't wait to use them in our own home decor this holiday season! The Place Settings:
Adding a layered look to your place setting what a great way to add a more expensive look for less. We started with a Large Wood Centerpiece, followed by a Black Scalloped Dinner Plate and added a Buffalo Plaid Dinner Plate and a Buffalo Plaid Dessert Plate on top. We also layered in a White Linen Napkin to break up the buffalo plaid pattern between the desert and dinner plates.
Each place setting was topped with our DIY Pine Cone Fire Starter Place Card and a Resin Antler Table Tosser. These Pine Cones were the perfect size and shape to create these place cards and will make cute–as–can–be favors for all your guests. Make sure to follow our step-by-step tutorial on how to create this simple and chic project!
The place settings were made complete with a Moscow Mule Copper Cup, and a Buffalo Plaid Luncheon Napkin topped with a Premium Silver Metallic Fork. Incorporating both copper and silver is a great way to give this classic theme a contemporary touch!
The Details: When we saw these Buffalo Plaid Fabric Table Runners, we knew we weren't going to use them in the traditional way. We thought they would make fabulous bride and groom chair backers for our wedding table. They were the perfect length and width, so all we had to do was fold and add some vinyl lettering to personalize the backers.
The Boozy Beverages:
When hosting a winter wedding, a hot chocolate bar is a must! But rather than just having a standard hot chocolate bar, we added our own special twist by adding various wines and liquors to traditional hot chocolates, creating our very own DIY Boozy Hot Chocolate Bar. The bar was set in front of an Evergreen tree along with a Buffalo Plaid Chalkboard Sign, which created the perfect winter inspired backdrop for the table. The main focus of the bar was the Buffalo Plaid Tiered Serving Set. The top tier featured our recipe for Red Wine Hot Chocolate in Classic Champagne Glasses, the second tier showcased Rumchata Hot Chocolate in a Plastic Martini Glasses and the bottom tier held delicious, Irish Hot Chocolate in Tiny Pedestal Clear Cups detailed with Stag Brads.
Kahlúa Hot Chocolate was served in fur adorned Buffalo Plaid Insulated Coffee Cups, while a few more Irish Hot Chocolates and white chocolate dipped marshmallows were served on Silver 2-Tiered Metal Server trays.
Each boozy beverage was titled using Buffalo Plaid Chalkboard Table Cards. This was a cute and simple way to let the guests know the details of each aperitif. One of our favorite details was the Buffalo Plaid Flask that we detailed with the popular holiday song lyrics, "baby it's cold outside" making this the perfect takeaway beverage for after the party is over.
We added a few Silver-Flecked Mercury Votive Holders filled with Pine Cones to the table and used the Buffalo Plaid Fabric Pennant Garland to create a small winter inspired banner that said "I do" that hung across the front of the table.
