Transform your room to set the stage for the big game! Bring the celebration of football to life in your classroom by transforming your space into an area that is centered around action and learning. Add fun lessons that revolve around the big game and all the experiences that go along with it. Use props to bring the space to life, banners and signs that transport you into the crowd, fun football toys to engage your students, and more for this awesome classroom transformation! Be sure to download all of the Free Printables that go with this fun classroom celebration.
The students, or players, walked into the room to see banners, signs and Football Field Tablecloths draped over all of the tables. I just rolled out the Football Field Tablecloths and cut along the length of the table so they fit each table perfectly. I used the Football Cutouts to bring a pop of color and fun to the scene. I feel like this created more of a game time atmosphere in our classroom. I also used Yellow Plastic Pennant Banners to brighten up the room and the ceiling.
Students were given a few different activities to do during our classroom celebration. They were asked to pick which team they thought would win and put the Football Bouncy Balls in the correct Large Storage Jars. To make things a bit more festive you can use Football Part Pennant Banner, Football Hanging Paper Lanterns, and Black and white Tassel Garland to spice up your tables!
Another fun and interactive activity is the concession stand task card center. I had my students use this concession stand menu to answer the questions on each task card. You can download the menu for free here! I used items from the Football Assortment to decorate the tables along with the Football Silhouette Centerpieces and tablecloth. I stored the task cards (another free download) in the mini Football Popcorn Boxes along with other supplies they may have needed. On student desks I switched out their normal supply boxes for the Football Utensil Caddys. This really played up the theme!
Students also worked on a measuring station where they used Football Pull-Back Toys and rulers. These footballs really zoom! To start, students measured how far the footballs traveled using rulers. They filled in the activity sheet and then converted the original measurement to feet. The last station was a second prediction station but it was a bit more specific. Students took a moment to "stop and jot" who they thought would win the big game and why! After they filled out their prediction using the prediction cards, they used the noise-makers found in the Football Assortment pack to celebrate!
