The Food:
First thing first, donuts! And lots of them! Chocolate and vanilla frosted cake donuts are stacked onto Clear Donut Serving Stands. An overturned DIY Flower Box Centerpiece is sectioned off with washi tape and painted with brightly colored acrylic paint. Paint the bottom of the wooden flower box and place four of the donut serving stands onto the overturned box to create playful height and interest.
No matter what they say, donut holes are just as fun and delicious as their larger donut counterparts. We gave our donut holes the royal treatment by decorating our Bamboo Skewers with glittered gold paper hearts and placing a few flavors of each donut hole onto each of the skewers. Layered the skewers onto a White Square Platter that is filled with a bed of fun colored sprinkles. We served the donuts on Pink and Mint Gold Foil Polka Dot Dessert Plates with Goldtone Candy Tongs and Donut Party Beverage Napkins.
Because of the fun, bite-sized nature of donut holes you can create a ton of fun features in your donut bar. We created an easy donut hole tree complete with a colorful washi tape flag topper. You can create one of your very own by wrapping a DIY large Foam Cone with plastic wrap. Attaching the donut holes to the foam cone by poking a toothpick half-way into the foam cone and placing a donut hole onto the toothpick. Continue inserting toothpicks and donut holes into the cone until the entire cone is filled. Decorate the top of the tree by making Neon Washi Tape and Pastel Solid Tape flags on a bamboo skewer and gluing a Hot Pink Bakers Twine bow onto the top. Place the donut hole tree onto a White Cake Stand to draw attention to this fun and edible addition to your food bar.
Sometimes it's OK to be a little extra and with donuts, it's ALL about the extra toppings. Pour chocolate, caramel, and icing into our Clear Condiment Bottles to let your guests be as extra as they want. Wrap an otherwise obnoxiously colored bottle of whipped cream with cardstock that matches the theme. Download and print out the Donut Food Bar Printable Food Labels onto adhesive sticker paper. Adhere the labels to the front of the bottles to be sure your guests know what kind of extra they are getting themselves into. To keep things tidy, make an easy wood caddy for all of your condiments. Section off the bottom of a DIY Unfinished Wood Planter Box with washi tape. Paint the bottom of the wood caddy with acrylic paint and insert the bottles.
Guests can really customize to their hearts content when doughnut holes are placed onto Bamboo Skewers and dipped into delicious chocolate from our Chocolate Fountain. Near the fountain, we placed fun toppings like nuts, sprinkles, bacon and chocolate chips into Small Clear Decorative Bowls with Gold Texture along with small serving spoons from our Premium Gold Cutlery set. Print and cut out the Donut Bar Food Label Printables. Adhere the labels onto the ends of Bamboo Skewers and place them into the bowls of toppings. Now the guests can dip and decorate their own custom donut hole! Craving a bacon and nuts donut hole with whipped cream topping and caramel drizzle? You've got it!
With all these sweet treats your guests will need something to wash it down with. Plastic Wine Carafes are filled with an array of juices and labeled with our free Donut Bar Food Labels. Print the labels onto a sheet of sticker paper to make creating these juice containers super easy. Don't forget the Donut Paper Cups!
The Favors:
For those guests who just want a few more sprinkles, we have placed fun paper straws filled with sprinkles beside the juice carafes. Decorative Washi Tape holds the sprinkles inside making these a perfect wedding favor. We placed the sprinkle straws in a Large Cylinder Glass Vase, filling the bottom of the vase with more sprinkles. I think your guests will agree that everybody could use more sprinkles in their life.
The Table:
No Donut Bar is complete without a colorful garland! Download, print and cut out the free printable Donut Bar Garland Template. Use your favorite method to transfer the letters to a DIY White Canvas Banner. Use acrylic paint and a flat bristled paint brush to paint the transferred letters. Use washi tape to section off DIY Unfinished Wood Heart Cutouts in different angles. Paint one side of the wood hearts and allow time for them to dry. Attach the banner letters and wood hearts to a length of Hot Pink Bakers Twine. Hang a Bright Tassel Garland behind your DIY Donut Bar Garland for some extra pizzazz.
Download our Donut Bar Printable Signs in 4x6 or 5x7 and put them in gold spray painted frames. Scatter these "punny" signs throughout your Donut Bar to really drive home your theme and make your guests smile. Place the signs on Gold Mercury Glass Candle Holders to add some extra bling.
No matter what theme your wedding food bar is, you need to add fresh florals. Our floral choice for this table was bright and fun colored ranunculus, roses, and peonies, with pops of whimsical billy buttons all placed in a DIY glittered vase. Tape off the bottom of a Medium Round Glass Vase with washi tape. Paint the vase bottom with gold acrylic paint. Once the paint is dry, apply Mod Podge® in small sections, sprinkling on Gold Glitter while the Mod Podge® is still wet. Keep working in sections until the entire vase bottom is completely covered. Once the Mod Podge® is dry, insert your bright fresh florals and set the vase on a Gold Mercury Candle Holder.
The Backdrop:
With a food bar as fun as this one, you need a backdrop that is just as bright and lively!! Luckily this backdrop is not only cute, it's super easy to create too!
