We moved into a new home recently. It’s always a feat to break out the Christmas holiday decor and figure out where to put it in a new space. This year I wanted my holiday decor to be simple and pretty. I love the look of boxwood and knew it would be a perfect touch this year for my holiday decorating.
I love the pretty pops of green in the boxwood decor. It really adds a simpleness to my holiday decor. I could even keep it up all year! I chose 3 ways to add touches of boxwood to my holiday decor. I love the pops of green in each room and the texture of the burlap ribbon with the boxwood.
Holiday Decorating with Boxwood: The Garland
I added boxwood garlands to my staircase this year. I used white burlap ribbon to tie it up and accent the pretty green. The textures of both are so great together.
To make the garland, I twisted two boxwood garland swags together. This made the boxwood look a bit fuller, but not too full. I used baker's twine to tie up the pieces on my banister. Baker's twine works great because it won't hurt the wood like wires or adhesive. I tied each end and section up with a white burlap ribbon bow. It looks so pretty on my staircase.
Holiday Decorating with Boxwood: The Wreath
I had so much fun making these boxwood wreaths to display this holiday throughout my home. Boxwood wreaths are so easy to make and are beautiful!
I went out on a limb and painted the boxwood garland pieces with gold spray paint. I love how they turned out! I cut the painted boxwood into 2 ft. sections, and tied the ends together in a circle to create mini wreaths. These gold boxwood wreaths are perfect for dining room chairs. Just tie up with a white burlap bow! Such an easy simple craft that looks so pretty in your home!
Mini chair wreaths are one of my favorite decor items for the holidays. Or just try making mini wreaths with the green boxwood and tie them up with a bright red bow.
Some other fun places to add boxwood wreaths, are doors and windows. I love the smaller boxwood wreaths hanging from my back doors. I love the simplicity of the white burlap ribbon that I used to hang the wreaths.
Try adding boxwood wreaths to a kitchen space, or a mirror in your home. I made a larger boxwood wreath using the boxwood garlands. I formed a circle out of a wire hanger. I then wrapped the boxwood garland around twice. I tied the top with a bow and it was a perfect wreath to hang above my stove during the holidays.
Holiday Decorating with Boxwood Balls
I love these boxwood balls that come in small, medium and large sizes. I love to add these balls to lanterns, vases, or make them into topiaries. So many possibilities with this beautiful boxwood for the holidays! How would you use boxwood in your home this holiday?
