Born to Rock Boys Baby Shower

Born to Rock Boys Baby Shower

Know a music loving mama-to-be? Then crank up the volume and grab your backstage pass. It's time to create the coolest Rock n' Roll themed baby shower! After all, boys rock and mommy is a VIP! Adorable music themed touches, rocking puns and a nod to classic rock anthems make for a super cute and very rock and roll baby shower.

For this party I decided to go with a fresh color palette of metallic blues, black, silver and a pop of neon yellow for a modern rock vibe.

Rock n' Roll Baby Shower

I used modern ghost chairs at the tables and hung Large Guitar Tote Bags off the back of each chair. These brought a bright pop of blue to the table and doubled as a take home bag for guests.

I set the table with black sequin tablecloths that felt very rock and roll!

In the center of the table I used the stand from a Clear Acrylic Sign to hold a neon yellow lightning bolt, a classic rock symbol.

Down the center of the table I scattered Personalized Guitar Picks as a table runner accented with Pastel Blue Mini Rattle Shower Favors.

Place Settings

A place setting is a great place to really emphasize the theme of the party. I started with a Silver Decorative Charger then topped it with a Metallic Black Hexagon Paper Dinner Plate followed by a Metallic Blue Hexagon Paper Dessert Plate.

When designing the place settings I couldn't choose between the Tutti Frutti Black & White Luncheon Napkins and the Blue Metallic Stripe Beverage Napkins. Both have a fabulous edginess to the design, so I alternated each place setting with the different napkin designs. I then added a Black Premium Plastic Fork, knife and a Clear Premium Plastic Wine Glass to every place setting.

Finally, I cut a strip of music from Medium Music Gift Bags with Tags and added a Blue Small Metallic Star at the top to create a rock star guitar look for a place card. Use American Crafts Silver Foil Alphabet Stickers to add the each guest's name to a metallic star.

The VIP Area

Grab your backstage pass for this spectacular VIP spread. The 25-Ft. Balloon Decorating Strip makes creating a rock concert worthy balloon garland a breeze. I combined jumbo black, chrome silver, silver metallic, black, blue metallic, chrome blue and light blue balloons with metallic stars to get a truly rocker vibe with my balloon garland.

Under the garland and over the dessert table I added Born to Rock Baby Shower Signage that you can create at home for the new baby rocker. Get the full tutorial for our Baby Shower Signage HERE.

I distinguished the dessert table from the rest of the party set-up with a Silver Sequined Tablecloth. On the center of the table I placed a Small Rugged Slate Tray with sweet treats inside little rocker onesies. Find out how to make these adorable Rock Star Baby Shower Favors HERE.

At each side of the dessert table I placed another lightening bolt, a nod to the rock anthem Thunderstruck from AC/DC. I then added a blue painted DIY Unfinished Wood Framed Star to tie in with the stars overhead. This also makes a great decor item for the baby's room after the shower.

Finally, I added the cake to the table. I chose to showcase a simple cake with a fun Shake, Rattle and Roll topper that you can easily replicate. Use stickers on a Black & White Speech Bubble Bulletin Board Cutout and add Pastel Blue Mini Rattle Shower Favors to really play on the pun. Make sure to add gum paste or fondant to the bottom of the mini rattles to ensure the cake is still food safe.

It wouldn't be a rock and roll baby shower without music! I created DIY Music Speakers for each side of the table. Find out how to create your own DIY Music Speakers HERE.

Make extra rocker onesies to use as accents throughout your party. See the step-by-step tutorial for the rocker onesies can be found in the Born to Rock Baby Shower Signage project.Rock-Baby-Shower-Content-17

Style the speakers by adding strands of Hanging Black Star Strings behind the speakers and propping Small Inflatable Guitars against them.

On the other side of the table above the speakers I added a DIY Guitar Cutout that I painted blue and decorated. Create the guitar riff from a Small Guitar Gift Bag, then add stars and a rocker onesie. Find the instructions for the rocker onesie in the Rock Star Baby Shower Favors tutorial.

The final touch for the entire baby shower was to add a shout to guests to Rock the (Casbah!) Cradle.
