When a darling mama-to-be is ready to celebrate her little bundle of joy on the way, hosting a fabulously stylish and ultra chic baby shower is an absolute must! This contemporary, yet cute, 'Born to be Loved' themed gender neutral baby shower is perfect for a boy or girl. With a myriad of modern geometric lines and shapes, bold black hues paired with soft lemon and mint undertones and some sweet themed tableware and decor, this Born to be Loved Modern Baby Shower idea has it all!
The Table:
To create this modern and bright baby shower, we layered our table in a soft lemon Yellow Table Linen. We then topped the linen with a geometric Black and White Triangle Table Cloth which served as a sleek and stylish table runner.
Elegant and modern pops of black and mint punctuated the table to create a contemporary color palette, perfect for a baby boy or girl. We love how you could also introduce hints of pink or blue to this color palette to make it more boyish or girlish or simply leave it as is and it is perfect for either gender!
The Place Settings:
Te place settings are an easy way to bring in pattern, style and color. Each of our place settings consisted of a styled layered plate, which gives an elegant and refined look without the expense.
Each setting included a black geometric Overlapping Chevron Dinner Plate topped with a simple White Plastic Dinner Plate and a Born to be Loved Dessert Plate. A Born to be Loved Beverage Napkin was layered between the dinner plates for an added touch of style. Mixing and matching patterns creates a chic and contemporary look.
The bold black, gray and mint place settings truly stood out against the lemon Yellow Table Linen while maintaining a clean and modern look.
To the right of each place setting sat a coordinating Born to be Loved Onesie Dinner Napkin topped with Silver Cutlery. The onesie theme was carried throughout the event in other decor areas as well.
A Stemless Wine Glass sat at each place setting and served up a mint-toned mocktail in a stylish fashion.
Each Stemless Wine Glass was accentuated with a Black Striped Paper Straw and a coordinating Born to be Loved Baby Onesie Cutout.
Each place setting also displayed a Born to be Loved Advice Card for guests to fill out for the mom to be! This is a great alternative to a game and gets guests talking about their own experiences with parenting. Simply gather these up at the end of the event and place on the included note card ring for the parents to be to peruse at their leisure or need!
The Centerpiece:
We wanted to keep our centerpiece in-line with the modern and sleek style of this baby shower, pulling out colors, patterns and onesie details inspired from other aspects of the shower.
A mint green Wood Floral Box displayed coordinating onesie details, adorable Black and White Striped Ribbon, darling decorated Wood Baby Blocks and some elegant Faux White Florals. Get the full tutorial for the Born to Be Loved DIY Centerpiece.
The gray, white and mint colored Onesie Cutout detail on the front of our centerpiece really stood out backed by Black and White Striped Ribbon.
We loved how the baby blocks that rested atop of the floral box highlighted the onesies and patterns seen on the decor throughout the event. The White Florals added a soft and refined feel juxtaposed to the rigidity of the wood elements.
Flanking each side of the centerpiece box sat two Mason Jar Centerpieces full of Faux Peonies and Dogwood Blooms.
We added a Black and White Striped Ribbon around the neck of the Mason Jar, and a Baby Onesie Cutout to the front of each Mason Jar in order to tie into the other pieces of the centerpiece and table decor.
The Backdrop:
We created a complementary backdrop by suspending matching Triangle Table Cloths to those on our shower table using a few paint friendly 3M strips.
A small vignette sat on a buffet table and was created using additional mason jar florals, an "Oh Baby, You are so Loved" Wood Sign and some additional simple paper product components.
A Onesie Cut Out was adhered to the "Oh Baby, You are so Loved" Wood Sign to really bring in the theme to this secondary table. We love how this piece of decor can be repurposed for baby's room after the event!
To add in a bit of color to our backdrop and table we hung two Born to be Loved Onesie Garlands. These added a sweet and simple piece of decor which ties into our table decor. Garlands are an easy solution for filling space with themed decor for an inexpensive price!
Lastly, we served up additional mocktails to our guests on our buffet in patterned Overlapping Chevron Paper Cups with Black and White Striped Paper Straws for a fun way to sip on something delicious! They looked perfect displayed on classic White Ceramic Cake Stands flanked by Faux White Peonies.
