Each year, as we decorate our tables to host guests for the Easter season, we strive to incorporate our own personal style and design preferences into our tablescapes. We both adore a chic farmhouse look with a pop of modern details, so this year a stylish mix of natural farmhouse elements paired with contemporary metallics seemed like the perfect blend of rustic and modern. Incorporating planting of bunny silhouettes, a variety of ceramic eggs along with burlap and jute made for the perfect blue and copper Easter brunch display.
The Table:
Our table was left in its natural state aside from a metallic and white table runner which added a pop of brightness to the table.
The Place Settings:
Each place setting included a burlap charger plate topped with a white dinner plate and a robins' egg blue plate.
We loved pairing the bright spring color with the chic farmhouse texture of the burlap. To bring a contemporary detail, each blue plate was topped with a wooden bunny silhouette that had been enhanced with copper leafing.
Along-side each place setting was a set of coordinating copper cutlery which played off of the leaves bunny silhouette beautifully.
To the right sat a simple glass milk jar filled with a refreshing cocktail. A blue and white striped paper straw added a sweet and rustic look.
One of our favorite things about Easter is of course the sweets! To the left of each setting sat a pedestal jar filled with blue chocolates that were not only the perfect color but oh so delicious as well!
The Centerpiece:
One of the easiest and most beautiful ways to tie a holiday theme into your tablescape, is of course via the centerpiece! Our DIY Blue and Copper Easter Centerpiece is easy to create at home and truly sets the scene!
In the center of our table sat a wooden garden box which had been painted in a bright white color. The box looked beautiful filled with faux eucalyptus greenery, fresh white tulips and blue ceramic eggs. Directly in front of the box sat two sweet ceramic bunnies which had been painted in the same blue color and had a simple jute bow.
To each side of the box sat a pedestal apothecary which was adorned in burlap ribbon and jute tassels and was filled with a mix of copper, white and blue ceramic eggs.
We loved adding a mix of burlap and jute to this classic style apothecary jar for a rustic feel.
The rustic details were perfectly juxtaposed with the bold pops of blue, white and copper foiled eggs.
Lastly, flanking each end of the table were two copper lanterns filled with fresh white tulips!
The Dessert Buffet and Backdrop:
We wanted our buffet and backdrop to be both beautiful and functional.
For our DIY Farmhouse Style Easter Backdrop, three farmhouse style window panes were adhered together to create a wide display.
A magnolia wreath was hung in the center pane and was clad in a rustic wood sign with a copper leaf bunny.
We love how the bunny on the wreath tied into the bunnies at each place setting.
In the center of our dessert buffet sat a wooden tray which displayed our recipe, a Lemon Custard and Berry Trifle. This petite and sweet dessert is the perfect palette cleanser after a delicious Easter meal.
Delicious layers of shortbread style cookies, sweet lemon custard and fresh sugared blueberries looked absolutely beautiful in the pedestal cups.
Lastly, we wanted to bring in pops of blue and copper to our dessert buffet to coordinate with our brunch table.
We set up two larger copper lanterns and filled them with a mix of white, copper leaf and blue eggs. We love this look and how it can be used in our decor throughout the Spring!
