Welcome to WAKANDA! If you are planning a Black Panther Party, check out these Black Panther party ideas and Black Panther party supplies. No superhero party is complete without the guest of honor dressing up as his favorite superhero, right? This Black Panther costume is the perfect way for your little one to really get in on the action!
Set The Scene With a Themed Backdrop!
When setting up a backdrop for a Black Panther themed candy table, place Black Panther, M'Baku and Erik Killmonger life-size cardboard stand-ups behind the table for instant drama! The kids will LOVE seeing their favorite Black Panther characters standing around the table. They are super easy to assemble and can be set up in minutes. They are truly the easiest way to instantly create a scene straight out of the Black Panther movie.
To enhance the tribal feel, I hung a piece of tribal print fabric on the wall. You could also drape the fabric over a backdrop stand and secure it to the stand with clips. I also added in bamboo sticks and tall grass floral arrangements to the table's design to add to the look and feel of Wakanda. Also inspired by Black Panther's suit, I used a black faux leather fabric as a tablecloth that you can find at your local fabric store.
Bring in Elements From the Movie
Black Panther gets his powers from a purple heart-shaped herb flower that, when crushed, forms a liquid that Black Panther drinks. Taking inspiration from the purple glowing flower, add glowing purple elements to the table like spelling out WAKANDA with Marquee Light-Up Letters.
Use Black Panther Toys to Decorate the Table
Since I have a Black Panther fan at home I simply used all of my son's Black Panther toys to decorate the table! This is an economical way to decorate a character-themed candy table since it won't cost you anything to use toys that your child already owns. I love how the toys look incorporated with all of the other Black Panther party supplies and the various candy!
Color-Coordinate Your Candy & Containers
Take inspiration from Black Panther to create your color palette for the candy on the table. I chose to stick with a color palette of purple, blue, gold and silver inspired by the purple heart-shaped flower, blue in the Black Panther plates and napkins, gold found in Eric Killmonger's Black Panther suit and of course silver from the Vibranium found in T-Challa's Black Panther suit.
Fill shallow black trays with purple chocolate Sixlets® for a pop of color and sit mini chocolate cakes on top.
Fill black low bowls with purple and blue candy and clear containers like the half-gallon jars with lids with gold and silver candy so the color of the candy shows through the jar.
Don't Forget The Tribal Details
Make sure to add some candy scoops to your table. Use tribal print washi tape to embellish candy scoop handles tucked into clear containers filled with purple gumballs.
You can also wrap tribal washi tape around the rims of clear containers like these rectangle glass vases holding blue rock candy sticks. I also used tribal beaded jewelry to embellish glass containers and vases. Wrap a beaded bracelet around a cylinder glass vase. Use clear tape to adhere a tribal string of beads to the front of glass candy containers holding purple rock candy sticks.
