Here in the midwest, we are known for harsh winters. Every year after a long, cold winter, I like to host a party for my kids and their friends to celebrate the coming of spring. This year, my youngest daughter ran to me with such excitement when she finally heard the tweets from birds singing outside her window. That is our sign that spring has sprung! Now, it’s time to plan a party— a fun and crafty Spring Birdhouse Craft Party full of fun craft party ideas!
Setting Up The Party
My kids LOVE crafts and making things, if your kids do too, then consider setting up a DIY Craft Table at your party. I started with white linen and a green fabric backdrop that I already had in my party stash, then instead of just handing a craft kit to each guest, I decided to display all the craft supplies on the decorated table to add a wow factor decor element to my party space. Isn't this much more fun? I already own this white manzanita tree, which was perfect as a centerpiece embellished with colorful flower hair clips! How fabulous does the tree look now with all that color!
Birdhouse Party Dining Table I not only used the flower hair clips on the tree, but also used them as napkin rings! Simply fold your chevron napkin then clip the flower on to the edge of the folded napkin. Fabulous, right? To complete the table's design, I added turquoise chevron dinner plates topped with these super cute tweet dessert plates that matched the tweet cupcake holder that I used instead as a centerpiece.
Birdhouse Party Craft Activity Add an element of surprise and personalize chevron treat boxes with each guest's name written on a die cut shape then taped to the front of the box. Place one wood birdhouse craft kit into each box. When it's time to do the craft, the kids go find their box and begin to assemble their birdhouses. The birdhouse craft kit comes with 12 individually packaged sets. If you have less than 12 guests, like I did, assemble the rest of them before the party and display them on your craft table for added decoration.
Party Favors Let's face it, kids LOVE party favors! I love to give items that the kids can wear during the party as well as a favor they can take home with them. When guests arrive, place these colorful flower headbands out for each guest to wear during the party. Then when guests are leaving, they can choose one of the plush tweet birds to take home in their chevron treat boxes.
I hope this Birdhouse Craft Party has inspired you to celebrate spring with a party of your own! Be sure to check out my other step-by-step tutorials for my Rock Candy Bird Branch snacks, DIY Birdhouse Craft Activity and Personalized Cupcake Place Cards. Photography and styling by Tonya Coleman.
