Be Kind Inspired Trunk or Treat Idea

Be Kind Inspired Trunk or Treat Idea

It’s so important to be kind, and this Be Kind trunk or treat theme blends kindness with elements of faith to create a colorful trunk or treat experience kids will love. This Be Kind Trunk or Treat Decorating Kit makes it super easy to set up – even if you’re new to setting up a trunk or treat display!

The first thing to do is line the inside of the trunk with a turquoise tablecloth, followed by securing a Rainbow Party Fringe Table Skirt to the bumper. We recommend using Gorilla® tape or packing tape to attach decorations to both the inside and outside of the car.

Next, attach Fiesta Hanging Combs to the edge of the open trunk, and then add cutouts from the Be Kind Bulletin Board Set below the hanging combs and on the inside of the trunk. Use as few or as many as you like! Use the Religious Be Kind Door Border to line the sides of your trunk.

Festive Solid Color Hanging Lanterns are a natural choice to decorate the inside of the trunk for this trunk or treat idea. Hang some from the inside of the trunk, leave some scattered on the trunk floor and secure a couple to the back of the space. Fiesta Hanging Combs can be mixed in with the solid color lanterns, too.

Now it’s time to add the handouts. Fill Neon Jack-O'-Lantern Buckets with Be Kind Mini Buttons, friendship bracelets, pencils and backpack clips. If you’d like to prepackage the trunk or treat goodies or have children fill a little bag, these Neon Paper Bags are perfect!

Volunteers can dress the part by wearing a Be Kind t-shirt or a shirt in a bright color that coordinates with the Be Kind trunk or treat theme.

With potential social distancing measures in place with your trunk or treat this year, there are lots of ways to make trunk or treat fun and safe for everyone! Build stanchions to keep distance between cars and encourage social distancing. To make your own stanchions, fill galvanized pails with gravel. Place a garden stake in each pail and then slide a black craft noodle over each one. Finish your stanchions by pushing a foam pumpkin over the top of each garden stake. You can now tie plastic streamers from one stanchion to another to create dividers to use between cars or to mark social distancing areas. In addition, volunteers who are handing out candy can use grabbers to avoid picking up the candy and also wear Halloween themed face masks to help keep everyone safe. Remember to have some hand sanitizer available so it's easy for everyone to keep their hands clean.

Make it the kind of trunk or treat kids will always remember with this Be Kind trunk or treat idea. Be sure to take a look at all of our Top Trunk or Treat Decorating Ideas
