Setting A Spooky Cute Scene

Creating a focal wall during any party is a sure way to grab your guests' attention right off the bat (pun intended!). And a wall with a colony of pink and black bats flying across it will definitely do the trick! The bats were cut from pink and black gossamer and then attached to the wall with glue dots. The wings were puckered slightly to give more of a 3D feel. Download the Free Printable Bat Template here.

The bats swooped over our black vintage dresser turned dessert table and were right at home with our coordinating pink and black decorations. Small white tables sat on either side of our dessert table and held a black metal lantern that was filled with a bit of stretchable spider web, which received a light coat of pink spray paint, and a battery operated flameless candle. A DIY wood shaped bat was painted light pink and was added to the lanterns to tie them into the theme.

Foam pumpkins were painted light pink and were adorned with a black gossamer bat. Diamond cut pedestal dishes, spray painted black, were filled with pretty pink peonies for a girly touch and looked feminine sitting next to the pumpkins and lanterns.

Additional foam pumpkins were placed on our dining table, which flanked a DIY ceramic skull and candlesticks. The LED black drip candle bases were sprayed pink for contrast. Black creepy cloth was layered on top of a pink bat covered tablecloth.

The pink tablecloth is actually a white polyester tablecloth that was spray painted a light pink. Vinyl bats were placed at random on the cloth before spraying. Once the desired coverage was achieved, and the paint was dry, the vinyl bats were removed and a shadow of white was left behind. I just adore the way the tablecloth enhances the overall look of the party!

Our DIY ceramic skull was placed atop a black cake plate covered in pink spray-painted spider web and served as the centerpiece of our table. The skull was simply painted light pink and received a few bats that were cut from black vinyl.

I'd be completely batty if I didn't decorate the backs of our chairs! Simple pink gossamer bats were the perfect addition and looked right at home with the rest of the party decor.

Elegant black scalloped dinner plates were layered with candy pink polka dot dessert plates for a playful touch. Candy pink cups, with the addition of black vinyl bats, sat atop DIY wooden bats, which were painted black. Black polka dot straws were ready for sipping. The black patterned wine glasses brought an additional flair of elegance to each place setting.
