Back to School Picture Display

One of my favorite traditions with my class is taking before and after pictures with my kids. This year, I made a cute hallway display that is both a decoration and can be used as a way to gauge their growth throughout the year.

Back to School Picture Before I show you my display, let me tell you a little more about the tradition. Every year, on the first day of school, I take a picture of my students. Then, during the last week of school, I take another picture in the same spot. Here is me two years ago. It is amazing the difference you see in littles from August to May. I love looking at the difference in my kids. If you pose them with the same object and in the same spot, you can see how much taller they have gotten. Sometimes it shocks me how little they were in August! Here is the picture we took this year. (Please excuse the crazy hair! It was hot and it had to go up!) Unfortunately, I can't share how cute my kiddos were this year! But hopefully you get the idea... We were holding this sign that my mom had made for us and we had on the Carnival Hat and Vest Set. So Cute! Then in May, I will take a picture of them in the Carnival Hat and Vest Set in front of the Big Top Directional Sign again. I love that the kids are standing against the sign, so we can see how much taller they will get! I will then print the two pictures and send them home with parents. Door Display I used the Big Top Directional Sign to put right outside my doorway. I was able to pick which words I put on which sign. We got a good chuckle out of the restroom sign. It is pointing right towards our bathroom. We also had a left over, so we put my name over it. I always wanted to see my name in lights! This Big Top Directional Sign is actually 3-D, but I wanted it flat up against the wall. So, I just cut the red and white striped box to a single side. I think it turned out pretty cute. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out letters and put them on red and white striped paper plates. (Similar to these) I just love this hallway decor and the tradition behind it! I hope you can use this for your classroom. Your parents and student will love it!
