A little baby bear only turns one once, so go all out with a darling bear themed party! So many creative woodland details make this a paw-some party that all the mama bears and bear cubs alike will love!
Bear Food Table
At the center of the all important food table was our darling Happy Birthday Little Bear Sign we made that featured the cutest stuffed bear face.
See how easy it is to make your own Happy Birthday Little Bear sign here! Large bear paw prints were placed over and across our table and added a fun element to the party! The best part is that they are decals and are easy to remove without ruining the walls or floor. All those hungry bears needed some tasty grub to snack on, so we filled our food table with loads of unbearably tasty treats.
Pretzel "wood" logs were loved by all and fit our party theme perfectly. A birch log place card holder held a sweet bear face up behind the logs, and wood logs were stacked on a large wood slice that made a nice plate for the treats.
Next to the logs was another wood platter with a bear face, but this one was filled with sweet cinnamon bear claws. Fruit flavored gummy bugs looked like they were wiggling and squirming out of the bowl, ready to be plucked out by a hungry party guest.
Wild bear-ries (raspberries and blackberries) offered a healthy snack option as well. We all know that bears love honey, so I filled wood baskets with Honeycomb® cereal. Each basket had a matching bear napkin unfolded inside to prevent the cereal from spilling out.
Above the Honeycombs was a wood beehive, made by my uncle, that sat on a large wood slice. Pine cones and acorns were sprinkled across the table to add to the rustic, woodland feel.
Honey lemonade was ready for sipping in a glass drink dispenser with a darling bear face added to the front.
Milk glass bottles were dressed up with circle cut outs of the buffalo check table cover. Green leaf ribbon tied across the top held them in place while a silver bear paw charm finishing them off.
Across the front of the table were some paper wood slices that I simply taped to the table.
Bear Dining Table
A cute black and white buffalo check table cover ran down the center of our dining table. Under each place setting sat large wood slices that served as chargers. Messy bears need plenty of napkins, so a black napkin was placed diagonally on the left side, while a smaller square bear napkin was stacked over the top.
Happy Bear Shaped Dinner Plates matched the bear faces on the food table.
I repurposed Bear-Shaped Cups by spray painting them black and turning them into utensil holders. To make the bears, I spray painted the outside of bear shaped cups black. I took the lids off and placed a fork and spoon in each.
A large black tree centerpiece was placed in the center of the table and matched our two black signs, black bears and paw prints. More pine cones and acorns were sprinkled around the table too.
Dress The Part
Make sure your special little boy is dressed for the occasion! Make him this adorable DIY Bear Onesie and Bear Ears! A plain baby shirt or onesie is easy to customize with just a bit of paint while little bear ears can quickly be made out of felt and a headband. See the full Bear Shirt and Ears tutorial here!
Forest Fun Area
Bear cubs don't like to sit still for very long, so I set up a little play area for them to get their wiggles out. I put up a white tent and added a fur blanket to the bottom as well as soft pillows for the kids to relax on. This tent makes for the perfect fort or hideaway for kids!
Eucalyptus and lamb's ear leaves were draped across the top of the tent to give it a more natural look and feel.
A chalkboard Don't Feed the Bears Sign was easy to make and looked adorable in front of the tent. You can see the full tutorial to make your own Don't Feed The Bears Sign here!
At the base of the sign I filled a long basket with cute little mini bear stuffed animals for the kids to adopt and take home with them. An inflatable fire mimicked a campfire and even more bear prints were spotting going into the tent.
If you have a little one with an upcoming birthday, definitely consider throwing them a bear themed birthday party! It's a unique and fun birthday party theme that guests are sure to love.
