Be the superhero of this year's trunk or treat and conquer a superhero theme like the Avengers conquered Thanos in Endgame. There's no better year to dedicate your trunk to Avengers than this Halloween. With some special details, a few easy props and amazing costumes, you can create a trunk with the supernatural power to wow your trunk or treaters. Be sure to download the Free Infinity Stone Template here! Keep reading to find out how to create this superhero trunk or treat idea.
Start your Avengers trunk by lining it with the galaxy backdrop. To get the background to pop a little more, attach cutouts from the Avengers bulletin board set. Glue dots or strong tape work best for this. Use the inflatable solar system to hang from the open trunk lid. Of course, the Infinity Stone gauntlet has to be placed in the center of the solar system. Put it on a clear cake stand with jewels surrounding it to make it the focal point. Use blue gems to represent the Space Stone, red jewels to represent the Reality Stone and purple gems to represent the Power Stone.
When creating a trunk or treat look, it's important to make it look robust while hiding as much of the car trunk as possible. Cardboard boxes covered with crumpled kraft paper, burlap and dark brown paper to resemble space rocks work great for bulking up the trunk. Use tape or glue dots to adhere the paper to the boxes. This is an easy touch that makes the trunk look like it is truly in the galaxy.
The most thrilling parts of the Avengers movies are the battles over the Infinity Stones, so including this Infinity Stone balloon garland is a must! Plus, everyone loves balloons, especially the kiddos. Start by printing out the Free Printable Octagon Template. Trace the octagon onto a green, orange, yellow, red, silver and hot pink Mylar balloon using a black Sharpie®. In each corner of the traced octagon, continue the line to the crease of the balloon. Just like that, the balloons now look like Infinity Stones. Add the Infinity Stone balloons to a gold balloon garland using the balloon garland strip (this is a lifesaver!).
Now that the galaxy is complete, it's time for costumes and props! Add a Spiderman™ stand up so he can use his Spidey senses to protect the trunk. Recruit some trick or treaters or adults to dress up as the rest of the Avengers. The Iron Spider-Man and Black Panther costumes werer fun for the adults, while the kids dressed up as Iron Man and Captain America!
Help your trick or treaters secure the Infinity Stones by giving them an extra super power with a little sugar – after all it is Halloween! We decided to use Avengers favor buckets, rock candy and assorted candy. You definitely can't have an Avengers themed trunk without some Avengers candy mix. Be sure to supply skeleton tote bags and colorful buckets just in case the kids need something to store their goodies in. Happy trunk or treating!

With potential social distancing measures in place with your trunk or treat this year, there are lots of ways to make trunk or treat fun and safe for everyone! Build stanchions to keep distance between cars and encourage social distancing. To make your own stanchions, fill galvanized pails with gravel. Place a garden stake in each pail and then slide a black craft noodle over each one. Finish your stanchions by pushing a foam pumpkin over the top of each garden stake. You can now tie plastic streamers from one stanchion to another to create dividers to use between cars or to mark social distancing areas. In addition, volunteers who are handing out candy can use grabbers to avoid picking up the candy and also wear Halloween themed face masks to help keep everyone safe. Remember to have some hand sanitizer available so it's easy for everyone to keep their hands clean.
