Avengers assemble to celebrate the release of the newest Marvel movie with an epic hero-style party! If you're anything like us, you cannot wait to see the newest film in the Marvel Universe and we wanted to host a party of astronomical proportions. This newest film pays tribute to the greatest heroes in the universe and we wanted to do the same with our celebration! With "super" themed DIY projects, legend-inspired recipes and party decor fit for the world's greatest protectors, you can recreate this superhero-inspired soirée at home for your own Marvel fanatics!
The Table:
We wanted to incorporate plenty of classic superhero colors and patterns into our table decor, so we opted for a color palette of grays, black, red and blue. We started styling our heroic table by layering a gray linen table cloth with a Marvel Avengers tablecloth, folded so it could be used as a makeshift wide table runner. On top of our Marvel tablecloth, a striped black and white table runner added a sleek and modern element.
The Place Setting
Our place settings were inspired by one of the Avenger's toughest heroes, Captain America.
We layered a red charger plate with a cobolt blue paper dinner plate which was then topped with a silver dessert plate.
To add the perfect detail, a diy paper star was painted white and placed in the center of the place settings.
Glass milk bottles were filled with milk and served with a black striped paper straw. Each milk bottle was wrapped in a striped blue satin ribbon and an Avenger Hero logo to coordinate with the striped paper straw.
Blue napkins were displayed alongside each place setting and then topped with coordinating red plastic cutlery.
Each place setting featured a star place card holder with an Avenger's team member logo on it, so our tiny superheroes could use their imaginations while they snacked!
The Centerpiece
We wanted to highlight the Marvel Universe theme and marquee lights were the perfect way to do so!
Marquee lights spelling out the word Marvel were flanked by cityscape candy containers that were filled with bright blue tissue paper.
The Backdrop
We wanted our backdrop and dessert bar to be reminiscent of a metropolitan skyline, which is such classic superhero imagery.
Our backdrop included a super hero archway which flanked each side of the dessert buffet.
An array of paper fans (including red, blue, silver and black) were arranged on the wall with a DIY Avengers symbol in the center.
The Dessert Buffet
The dessert buffet sat in front of our backdrop and was full of themed sweets and treats and party decor.
We wanted to bring in even more superhero details so we added another Marvel tablecloth and a black and white striped table runner to our buffet.
We decorated the front of the buffet with a custom tassel garland we made by turning 3 individual tassel garlands into one! This multicolored superhero-nspired tassel garland (red, blue and silver) took minutes to make and looked amazing along our buffet.
We created skyscraper-inspired buildings using diy planter boxes and gray scrapbook paper. Cityscape candy containers were filled with red tissue paper so they would pop against our backdrop. This added even more superhero details and some fun height to our table.
Our snack buffet included our favorite – cupcakes! These yummy (and simple) cupcakes looked adorable on a diy cupcake stand that we trimmed in red rickrack ribbon.
Easy-to-Make Cupcakes
We wanted to have a specific Avengers-themed treat that would be simple and quick to make but would pack a bug punch! We decided on delicious Thor's Hammer Cupcakes! What's not to love about these tasty treats?! With a hint of sweet and salty and topped with whipped icing and marshmallows, these cupcakes really are an all-in-one dessert. Each one was wrapped in a black and white striped cupcake wrapper and looked just perfect on our dessert buffet. You can get our Thor's Hammer Cupcake Recipe here.
The Party Favors
We kept our party favors clean and simple by giving out red gable favor boxes.
The adorable red gable favor boxes had an added "Captain America Star" and free printable Avengers tags. These boxes were perfect for filling and were full of fun Avengers-themed party favors!
A DIY Detail
We also wanted to give the kids some fun themed items, and these DIY Captain America Shields were a huge hit!
They looked perfect displayed on our table and the kids loved playing superheroes!
