Fall is my favorite season. Maybe it’s all the pumpkins and pumpkin spice, maybe it’s the gorgeous trees as they turn colors, or maybe it’s just the start of what I like to call the “cozy season.” Whatever it is, these last cool crisp autumn nights are the perfect time to host a get together with friends or family, before the bustle of the upcoming holiday season. Here’s what you need to know to host a low-key autumn get-together.
I wanted this table to be simple, rustic and have a very fall feel. I love adding color into my tablescapes, but adding in nature or natural elements are a must for me. This handmade wood slice server is one of my favorite pieces.
These Gold Mum Dinner Plates add that touch of fall color I was looking for. Pairing them with a larger charger not only looks pretty, but helps to make your plate a little sturdier. Cloth napkins make every meal feel a little more sophisticated. To dress up these plain white napkins, I added a fun patterned napkin and these cute DIY Jute Napkin Rings.
An entire spread of food is not necessary for a simple get-together like this. I put out a simple cheese and cracker plate, some fruit and dessert to make everyone happy. My Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Whoopie Pies are sure to be a hit!
Mason Jars make the best glasses. I gave these an extra touch by taking leaves from my DIY Autumn Leaves Garland and writing my girlfriends' names on them. These cute straws finished off the look! The birch coasters give another touch of nature to the table, which I love.
In my book, candles are always appropriate at a party. These darling little copper lanterns look great scattered around or could be fun to use at each place setting if your were hosting a sit down dinner.
I hope you feel inspired to savor these last few weeks of fall and get together with some of the special people in your life. Make sure to check out my DIY Autumn Leaves Garland, easy DIY Jute Napkin Rings and of course, my recipe for Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Whoopie Pies. Happy Fall!
