Anchor charts are a pivotal teaching tool. They "anchor" down ideas, concepts and create visuals for students to reference all year. Creating and storing anchor charts is a must-have in the classroom! I will highlight how you can make your charts stand out and how to properly store them throughout the year.

I use anchor charts every single day in my classroom to support my students' learning. We use anchor charts as a teaching tool, or a reference guide that serves as a visual aid to reinforce important keywords that go along with the lesson at hand. As my anchor chart canvas, I always use either the Pacon® Heavy-Duty Anchor Grid Ruled Chart Paper or the Pacon® Heavy-Duty Unruled Anchor Grid Ruled Chart Paper. I love using the grid paper in math! These packs last a long time and are easy to store. I simply hang them on wall in my room.

The absolute best markers for making anchor charts are the Sanford Mr. Sketch Scented Marker Sets! The chiseled tip, vibrant color and fun scents really make each poster pop! The ink in these markers lasts all year long and the variety in colors makes all my anchor chart dreams come true!

To make sure that posters are easily seen for all students, I hang them on my classroom whiteboards using these Storage Hook Magnets. Hanging them with tape runs the risk of ripping the paper or for the charts to fall off the boards. These magnets are super strong and can hold more than one chart if you layer them!

I am a big fan of washi tape and I love using it on my anchor charts. Not only do they add a little bit of flair, they also can break up and highlight important information on your charts. This allows the students to read the posters easily and point out the distinctions between topics or items on the paper. My go-to washi tapes are in this Primary Patterned Washi Tape Set that comes in a pack of 5. I love this set in particular because of the variety of colors!

Last but not least is my FAVORITE anchor chart accessory. With all these beautiful anchor charts in the classroom, where do you store them come testing season or when you've moved past that particular teaching standard? I love storing my anchor charts on the Anchor Chart Storage Rack. This rack is so easy to assemble, doesn't take up too much space and comes with 11 hangers! Having this rack has helped me save my precious charts, and the best part is that it is on wheels!
