My son loves all things baseball and this year he asked to have a baseball themed birthday party to celebrate turning another year older. While I've thrown lots of sports-themed parties, from my popular March Madness party to the Super Bowl I've never thrown a baseball themed party so I was excited about doing something new!

Baseball Birthday Party Table Setting

I started by creating some baseball party decorations using a simple and easy backdrop for my dessert table. I always love having a specific area where all the treats or food for the party are set-up, it not only helps the flow of the party it also makes a great focal point for the celebration. I used the black fadeless paper and chalk to create a DIY scoreboard for the backdrop.

Next, I set-up the table with a white table cloth covered with the artificial grass table runner to mimic the baseball field. I added a red tassel garland to the front of the table and made some easy DIY baseball paper lanterns with the white hanging lanterns and red marker.

Baseball Birthday Party Dessert Table and Concessions

I stuck with traditional food you would find at a concession stand at the baseball field. I filled a tiered serving tray with the baseball popcorn balls, Big League Chew and peanuts. A added a gumball filled baseball bat to the table and decided to use it as a prize for the winning team.

I filled a glass jar with popcorn and put out popcorn bags so the hungry kids could fill up a bag before heading out to the field. There was lots of water and ice cold Coke for our thirsty friends too.

A grass filled box held the baseball lollipops, which were a huge hit with the kids!

Mini white metal buckets were filled with peanuts and scattered around the table. I added a few DIY pennants I made with my Cricut and vinyl.DIY Baseball Pennant Banner

A small baseball cake with more DIY pennant banners sat in the middle of the table surrounded by some of my son's baseball gear for decorations.

Before I let the kids dive into all the treats at the concession stand we had them chow down on classic all-American baseball food. I set the tables with white table clothes and layered red square plates with the Major League baseball dessert plates. It's always fun to have each place setting personalized for the guest, and the kid's think it's extra special to see their name on things so I personalized a few of the mini white buckets with each guest name. Again I used my Cricut and vinyl to create these personalized place cards.

I created a DIY Baseball Centerpiece as the focal point of the table, and again used some of my son's baseball gear to create visual interest.

One of my favorite things about throwing a themed party is being able to come up with fun treats the kids will love. It's no surprise that these Baseball Cookie Treats were a home run. Everyone loved these treats and I decided that they would make the perfect party favor too.
