The first step in transforming your classroom into an adventure-themed room is formulating a plan. I decided to transform my colleague's classroom after she fell in love with the camp adventure theme! I used Burlap Print Hanging Paper Lanterns and Hanging Paper Lanterns in various colors to designate each table.
The back of the classroom includes a classroom library and small-group work area.
I love how large this classroom is and how much wall space I was able to work with. This is something that is important to take into consideration while in the planning stages of a new classroom theme.
My absolute favorite part of this classroom is the library nook! Be sure to check out the Classroom Adventure-Themed Library Nook article to see how this space came to life! I love how sectioned off each area of the classroom is. This makes working in small groups more manageable and easier to handle. Let's get started transforming our classroom!
Ensuring that your student supplies and materials are easily accessible is important in any classroom. These DIY Unfinished Wood Slat Crates are the perfect solution in your adventure-themed classroom! I used a DIY Unfinished Wood Chalkboard and Chalk Marker to designate each table. Add a bow to each crate using Black & White Striped Satin Ribbon. Lastly, I felt that these Medium Galvanized Metal Pails were perfect for storing pencils or other classroom supplies in the center of each table.
Every teacher wants an organized space to fulfill their day-to-day responsibilities. I always like including various patterns into the classrooms I style. This buffalo plaid pattern has that same outdoor feel as the products in the adventure line and complements all of the rustic wooden elements nicely. I love how vibrant the red is in contrast to the black furniture.
Decorate your desk with this Faux Potted Succulent Crate and add your favorite plant in a Large Buffalo Plaid Pail. Don't forget to organize all your important papers in these Rustic Classroom File Folders, too!
The Fadeless® White Shiplap Bulletin Board Paper Roll can be paired nicely with the Adventure Bulletin Board Borders and Buffalo Plaid Hanging Fans. I also love creating a fun, silly, or inspirational quote using the Black Letter Board Kit. Lastly, decorate the walls behind your desk using a DIY Stained Wood Plank Sign - 12", a Galvanized Vase, some Jute Cord, and your favorite vase filler. Organize your desk with these Large Buffalo Plaid Pails that are perfect for storing birthday pencils or other classroom supplies. Every classroom needs some decorations, too! I love how much character these Geometric Terrarium Candle Holders and Hanging Jars with Succulents add to the teacher desk.
Every teacher strives to have a clean and organized desk. This DIY Unfinished Wood Planter Box is the perfect solution to keep your desk clean and organized! I used a Sharpie® marker to write "I Teach" on the outside of my wood planter box. Fill your wood planter box with 3, Pint Ball Mason Jars and add a bow with Jute Cording.
Organize your markers in these Medium Galvanized Metal Pails. I love how accessible these markers are for my students. Displaying educational posters in the classroom is also important! Make this Basic Skills Poster Set pop by adding a Polka Dot Border behind each poster. These posters are a great resource for your students and they are the perfect way to add some color into your classroom!
I created these FREE printable posters to display in your adventure-themed classroom! These printables can be perfectly displayed in a matte black frame and placed on top of any bookshelf or window sill. Download the FREE printable here!
Every teacher loves organization! I filled a DIY Flower Box Centerpiece with Medium Galvanized Metal Pails. This is the perfect solution for storing and organizing your colored pencils, markers, or crayons! Be sure to check out all the Crayola® products that you can use in your classroom!
One way to transform dull, boring walls in any classroom is by covering them with a Fadeless® White Shiplap Bulletin Board Paper Roll. I outlined each section with Black Scalloped Bulletin Board Borders and placed two Large DIY Unfinished Wood Frames with Wire within each section. Adhere a bow to each wood frame using Black & White Striped Satin Ribbon. My favorite part of this area is the Silver Accent Bulb String Lights. These string lights add warmth to the classroom and give the space a true, outdoor feel.
