You don't have to crochet or knit to make awesome things with yarn! These seven simple yarn crafts use colorful yarn in creative ways. From weaving yarn into wall hangings and baskets, to wrapping it around vases and picture frames. These crafts are ones that adults will enjoy but are also simple enough for older children to make as well. We love using this four pack of neon yarn and this four pack of primary yarn for these craft ideas.

Yarn adds a fun boho element to a plain glass vase or milk bottle. Just paint Mod Podge around the bottom of the vase and wrap the vase with different colors of yarn. Finish with a few tassels for an added touch. A group of these vases would make a colorful table centerpiece for a party!

This is a craft both kids and adults can enjoy! Cut a paper cup or snack cup down to 2" and then glue an odd amount of craft sticks around the base, You can use small craft sticks or large craft sticks. Tie a knot of yarn around one of the craft sticks and then weave in and out of the craft sticks. Continue weaving rows until you have reached the top. You can add multiple colors of yarn if you like!

You can also try the yarn weaving technique with an embroidery hoop. Wrap natural cording around the hoop to create an evenly spaced grid. Then use a variety of yarns in different colors and weights to weave between the grid until you fill the hoop with a beautiful weaving!

Make a colorful statement with this heart-shaped yarn wreath. This project uses a heart wire wreath form, but a circular wire wreath form will work too. Cut a 5" by 2" piece of cardboard and use it to wrap yarn around the long edge ten times. Cut the yarn off the cardboard to create ten 10" long pieces of yarn. Wrap the bundle of yarn around the wreath form and tie with a knot. Repeat with other colors of yarn until you have covered your wreath.

You can also use embroidery hoops and chunky yarn to make a modern wall hanging or chair back hanging for a wedding or special event. Tie lengths of chunky yarn in neutral colors to the bottom of a small embroidery hoop and medium emboidery hoop. Then hang them together. You can even add a geode touch to the top of the wall hanging if you want!

Another simple use for yarn is to make it into a garland. Start by cutting a length of yarn as long as you want your garland. Then cut a 5" by 2" piece of cardboard and use it to wrap yarn around the long edge ten times. Cut the yarn off the cardboard to create ten 10" long pieces of yarn. Tie each piece to the main length of yarn. To do so, pinch each piece of yarn in half and then fold over the top of the main yarn, bringing the ends through.
