Celebrating the holidays in our classroom is a truly magical! I love witnessing my students embrace the Christmas spirit. There are so many fun activities that are a staple in my classroom this time of year. From The Polar Express to Santa's Workshop, to making ornaments for parent gifts and decorating our classroom, the possibilities are endless and the excitement is high! Here is just a few of the fun activities we do in our classroom. Be sure to download the Free Santa Face Printable here!

What is more iconic than Santa's beard? My kids loved making this craft to display in the hallway. I printed a Santa face for each student and then gave them glue and pom-poms. Their objective was to glue the pom-poms down onto the circles. This project also works on their fine motor skills. Pinching the pom-poms to glue them down is excellent practice when it comes to honing in on fine motor skills. Download the Free Santa Face Printable here!

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year! I love pulling Christmas into the classroom so this year I turned my dramatic play area into Santa's Workshop. The kids are loving it, and it makes our room nice and cheery! Use a Santa's Workshop Cardboard Stand-Up to quickly flip your classroom for the holidays. Incorporate Christmas Gift Boxes, this Christmas Gift Box Assortment and Jumbo Holiday Gift Bags to make the room feel even more like a North Pole workshop.

One of our favorite activities that we do during Christmas time is reading The Polar Express. I wanted to bring this book to life and decided to create a themed bulletin board based off the book! My kids love this bulletin board! Now students can pretend that they rode the Polar Express, and are stopping to see who gets the first present of Christmas!

One of my favorite crafts to do around Christmas time, is make candy cane ornaments. I love doing these in Pre-K because it hits two main skills that we focus on. The first skill is fine motor. They have to use their fine motor skills to sort and thread the beads on the chenille stems. These ornaments also works on the students patterning skills. The candy cane is done in a AB pattern. Once the beads are threaded, put a hook in the end of the stem, and hang it on the tree!

One thing that we do in Pre-K to make our room festive, is put up monogrammed stockings. Check out how to make these cute DIY monogrammed stockings.
