Starting off a new school year is so exciting! It is the perfect time to reflect on the previous year and change anything that didn't go as planned. Keeping a classroom organized throughout the year is extremely important to help make the classroom run smoothly. You may still need to adjust throughout the year, but starting off on the right note is a huge help. Here are a few of my favorite ways to keep my classroom organized. Throughout my years of teaching, I have always struggled to have the perfect paper system. This year, my focus was to have a "turn in" place for every subject that students can quickly turn in their own papers, which will then save precious teaching time. I am so excited to use Black Stackable Bins this year. Each bin is labeled with the subject to make sure papers are turned into the right bin. Download the free Printable Bin Labels here! Print, laminate, and attach the free printable labels with glue dots. I love how the bins can be stacked in sets of 2 or 6!

Most classrooms today have a set of guided reading books for teachers to easily access for reading groups. Organizing these can be a hassle, especially if you have a lot of them! By using Black Book Organizers to hold each level of books, you will save room and be able to easily access each level quickly. Attach a Clear Self-Adhesive Labeling Pocket to each organizer and slide in a label. This system works great for classroom libraries, too.

If you are like me, you've tried to store your daily copies near your teacher area each year. But, then you are rarely in that area unless you are in reading or math groups! This year, I am excited to use Dry Erase Board Ledge Storage Racks to hold any papers that I need for the day right where I am always teaching. No more rushing back for copies!

Like many teachers, I move around the classroom a lot. I am rarely in my "teaching area" where my supplies are held and I am constantly needing to head back to grab something. I like to sit on the floor with students whereever they might be! The Carryall Storage Tote Bag is the perfect solution for this. It is large enough to hold everything I need, including phonics sets. Each side has individual pockets to hold Expo Markers, Mr. Sketch Markers, pencils, erasers, you name it!

Each quarter I save work to show parents at conferences, but have never found the perfect folder or system. I am excited to use the Crayola Art & Creativity Portfolios this year for each student. The Crayola Art & Creativity Portfolios expands open when needed to hold even more work. In order to reuse the portfolios each year, I used washi tape to write each student's name. Next year, I will simply peel it off and add new.
