5 Storage Solutions for Any Classroom

5 Storage Solutions for Any Classroom

Here are 5 of my go-to storage solutions whether I'm teaching in my classroom at school or teaching from home. These items are convenient because they save space and are functional no matter where you're teaching!

Teachers, both in-school and homeschool, have so many materials, curriculum, and resources to organize. Ideally, we all want to have big classrooms and space in our homes to store all of those school things. But, let's face it, many of us do not have the space or the budget to store all these must-haves! This is where getting creative, and having a system comes in handy. Here are five of the best storage solutions that have worked wonders in my own classroom. They will help keep you organized, build a routine, save space, and help you stay sane all at once!

My first storage solution item is the Storex Quick Stack Organizer. I use this organizer in my classroom to sort various types of paper that I need to have on-hand throughout the day. It not only give me quick access my copy paper but it's also eye candy for any teacher!

If you're teaching in a homeschool setting you can use this sorter as a cubby/mailbox system at home to help keep your child's materials accessible. For even more organization label the compartments using a label maker or a Cricut. Label each compartment with your student's name and other supplies you may use.

Mini Pails are one of the simplest, and inexpensive, storage solutions for any classroom. Are you tired of your students always misplacing their pencils? I have the perfect solution for you! These pails are great for holding sharpened and unsharpened pencils. They also make great storage pails for manipulatives, craft and art supplies. Make sure to grab the FREE pencil labels here too!

These 3 Compartment Storage Caddies are really a dream item for teachers! I love using them in my classroom because they fit all our supplies that we use on a regular basis and keep my students' supplies nicely organized throughout the year. These will also work great for at-home learning to help keep your child's learning materials at arm's reach and visible. Since these caddies are made of sturdy plastic they're also very easy to sanitize with a disinfectant wipe or spray! Caddies come in a set of 6 which features 6 different colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple).

I use book bins to organize my classroom read alouds by genre. I also use them as individual student reading bins. Students keep their reading bins in a cubby then pull them out during their free time and read-to-self time. In a homeschool setting, these book bins are one of the best ways to organize curriculum by subject. I especially like these book bins because they conveniently feature a write-on/wipe-off surface.

Saving space is essential in both the classroom and at home. To save precious space I frequently use a rolling storage cart. I made sure to get a cart with wheels so that I can move it around my classroom whenever I need! It makes organizing and storing supplies efficient, easy, and accessible. I use this as my resource cart, with the help of labels, bins, pails, and baskets. I love how the cart keeps everything looking nice and tidy!

I hope these storage solutions are as helpful for you in the classroom and at home as they are for me!
