Grab some chenille stems and pony beads and spend a fun afternoon crafting up a variety of easy DIY ornaments for the Christmas tree. These five ideas for pony bead ornaments include a snowman, Christmas tree, candy cane, star, and snowflake. Get creative and come up with your own designs too! The ornaments come together in minutes with a few twists of the chenille stems. Hang with festive red and white baker's twine.

Take two green chenille stems and twist the ends together. Begin threading on pony beads using a mix of green pony beads from the Christmas Pony Bead Assortment and Shiny Pony Beads to mimic Christmas ornaments. Bend the chenille stems into a tree shape and twist the ends together at the top. To create a star, cut a yellow chenille stem in half and bend it into a star shape. Attach it to the tree by bending the excess green chenille stem from the tree around it. Trim as needed. Tie a loop of baker's twine through the star to make a hanger. Now you have a fun Christmas Tree shaped ornament!

To make a snowflake ornament, cut two blue chenille stems in half. Take three of the halves and twist together in the middle to form a snowflake shape. Thread shiny pony beads onto the snowflake. I used seven pony beads for each arm of the snowflake. Bend the end of the chenille stem over the back of the last pony bead to hold it in place. Tie a piece of baker's twine around the top of one of the snowflake arms and make a loop to create a hanger. This snowflake ornament makes the perfect preschool craft!

This is the easiest pony bead ornament of them all using the Christmas Pony Bead Assortment. To hold the first pony bead in place you can thread it onto a white chenille stem and then run the end of the chenille stem down through the top of the pony bead and pull taught. Then alternate red and white pony beads until your candy cane is long enough and bend the top. You can secure the last pony bead in the same manner as you did the first. This would make a cute hand-made Christmas gift for family or friends.

To create the star ornament, wrap the ends of two yellow chenille stems together. Thread on gold shiny pony beads and bend into a star shape as you go. Twist the ends of the chenille stems together and trim as needed. Hang with a baker's twine hanger. This star ornament would be perfect at the top of a kid's Christmas tree.

For the snowman ornament, use a white chenille stem and white pony beads to create a circle to form the base of the snowman. Twist the ends together. Create a smaller circle in a similar manner and attach it to the bigger circle by twisting the ends of the chenille stems around it and trimming. Create a hat by bending a black chenille stem and trimming to size. Attach the hat to the snowman head with small pieces of white chenille stem. Thread red pony beads onto a while chenille stem and wrap around the snowman to create a scarf. This makes the perfect winter craft for littles to make!
