Looking to add in some easy flexible seating options? I will share my top 5 must haves that will help provide more seating options as well as organization tips for your class to be successful!

The easiest and most comfortable flexible seating option that any teacher can add to their classroom are pillows! Student love to cuddle underneath their desks or in a reading nook with these. I love how many different color options there are in the Large Pillows. I chose to add in a couple Large Blue Pillow, Large Purple Pillow and Large Green Pillow to go along with my succulant classroom decor.

I use file crates in my classroom in so many different ways. From organzing my center materials, student data folders to my favorite, a portable desk! Simply add a piece of wood with some cute fabric and you easily create a student desk that can be taken all over the classroom. The best part is that these can be stacked in a corner in your room at the end of the day, barely taking up any space at all. You can also store student supplies inside them. I got the Storex Premium File Crate with Handles, Classroom Blue and they come in a set of 6 too!! There are also a lot of different colors available to match whatever classroom theme you have.

Clipboards are the most important, functional piece that every teacher should have for their students if they are implementing any type of flexible seating option in their classroom! Each student has a Rainbow Clipboard that helps them always have a place to store work and have a hard surface to do work on. These come in a 6 pack as well, which makes it very cost-efficient! What I love most about using these plastic clipboards instead of wooden ones is that students can use expo markers on it for a make-shift white board! Along with the clipboards, each student has a Be You Homework Folders with Touch Fasteners and a Be You Pencil Cases. I swear by both of these because they have a clasp and a zipper on them to ensure that none of my student's work or supplies fall out as they travel around the classroom. The best part is that both the folders and the pencil cases come in a 12 pack!

With students working around the classroom and not being at a desk all day, they need a way to store and transport their supplies. A mantra in my class is " A place for everything and everything has a place". To help store their supplies, each student has a Black Book Organizer that has their student number on it. There is extra space in the Black Book Organizer to add in workbooks, chapter books or any other item your students might need.

Last but not least, why not add in some fun to your flexible seating by adding in a pool float or two! My students are obsessed with this BigMouth® Giant Inflatable Cactus Pool Float. We use a student raffle to determine who gets to use this on Friday. Students also get to use it on their birthday or as any other special reward. There are so many different pool floats available to add in some excitement for your class!
