4 Ways To Bring The Disco Trend Into Your Wedding

4 Ways To Bring The Disco Trend Into Your Wedding

Infuse your wedding with a dose of nostalgia to create a completely new and modern wedding palette. Think fun, fresh, and edgy! Retro decor, mirror balls, fringe, iridescent details, a70/7106nd all things disco are making a comeback for 2020 weddings. Not surprisingly, given the average age of a person getting married is 33, meaning many soon-to-be weds came of age in the 1990s. Achieve the look with smaller disco balls on the tabletop, by pairing larger disco balls with fresh flowers or adding dried & painted palm leaves for a more whimsical look.

Follow the call of the disco ball with a tablescape to suit every taste!

The beauty of these disco inspired wedding palettes are that they pop against a simple and cost effective backdrop. Start with a Large Iridescent Fringe Backdrop Curtain. Then layer a second Large Silver Metallic Fringe Backdrop Curtain. Use scissors to trim the top silver fringe into a geometric design.

As an accent to the fringe, add a cluster of disco balls in various sizes. Layer in white and Pink Hydrangea Garlands, Pampas Grass, florals and painted palm leaves for depth and to soften the look. Change out the colors of the florals and painted palms depending on your wedding color palette.

SOFT PINK DISCO TABLESCAPE

The Table

To create this soft and romantic take on the disco trend start by using a Blush Draping Fabric Roll as a table runner.

In the center of the table, give a disco ball vase height by placing it on top of a Clear Cylinder Vase filled with Iridescent Metallic Shred.

Slice the top of a disco ball off using a sharp knife (Tip: Cut between the mirror tiles). Disco balls are hollow, fill the hole with floral foam and then insert floral stems into the foam. Spray dried stems and palm leaves pink and white and add these to the back of the arrangement for a dramatic modern look.

Remove small disco balls from a New Year's Eve Disco Ball Headband. Place these and Mirrored Ball Ornaments onto bamboo skewers to easily insert them into the floral foam throughout the arrangement. I also added bamboo skewers on the Iridescent Best Day Ever Cake Topper so that I could secure this into the foam.

Scatter more disco balls down the table and add Iridescent Diamond Texture Votive Candle Holders and Iridescent Decorative Votive Candle Holders at each end of the table for evening lighting.

The Place Settings

For this look start with Round Table Mirrors and layer with a Light Pink Paper Dessert Plate and an Iridescent Paper Bowl. Add a couple of disco balls to the bowl to break up the block of iridescent. Next add a white & iridescent napkin, cutlery and an Iridescent Dots Wine Tumbler, complete with New Year's Eve Disco Ball Stir Stick.

Add a retro 70's look message to each charger for a bit of fun as guests take their seats. I used "Follow the call of the Disco Ball". Use a colored chalk marker to write the message or cut it out of vinyl using a cutting machine.

EDGY & MOODY DISCO

For an edgier Studio 54 inspired tablescape start by adding a touch of black to the backdrop. Keep it simple and add a Black Metallic Fringe Plastic Table Skirt over the iridescent & silver fringe. Trim the fringe to create a geometric line that follows the bottom layer.

The Table

Use the same soft blush draping fabric as a table runner with a scattering of disco balls down the middle.

The Place Settings

For a moodier look anchor the setting with a black charger and layer the setting with a dramatic darker diamond plate design. The same Iridescent Paper Bowl with disco ball accents further emphasizes the darker setting.

I swapped out the white & iridescent napkin with an Iridescent Luncheon Napkin and paired a Clear Premium Plastic Wine Glass with the Iridescent Dots Wine Tumbler.

IRIDESCENT DISCO

For a truly memorable and eye-catching ode to disco this iridescent and silver tablescape has it all. Start with the original Large Iridescent Fringe Backdrop Curtain and geometric layered Large Silver Metallic Fringe Backdrop Curtain.

The Table

For this tablescape use a dramatic full Silver Sequined Tablecloth rather than the draped runner used in the previous looks. Add a scattering of small disco balls from a New Year's Eve Disco Ball Headband and Mirrored Ball Ornaments down the table. Accent these with an Iridescent Diamond Texture Votive Candle Holder.

Then use a Mirrored Ball Ornament as a place card. Cut up a Gold Glitter Trim Place Card and add each guests name in a fun retro 70's font. Use a colored chalk marker to write the name or cut it out of vinyl using a cutting machine.

Use the same cutlery and tumbler used in the previous place settings. Then for this setting add a glam Premium Plastic Champagne Flute, with a party ready Iridescent Drink Umbrella.

PUMP UP THE COLOR

If the full iridescent and silver palette isn't to your taste why not pump up the color. As a fun alternative to traditional mirrored disco balls spray paint the disco balls used on the table and in the floral arrangement. Use colors that are featured in the Iridescent Luncheon Napkins to tie into the place settings.
