Celebrate all the far out trends of the 1970s with a fun and funky 70s party! I grew up watching T.V. shows based in the 70s like Scooby Doo, Three’s Company and The Brady Bunch, so when I found new 1970s themed party supplies,I knew I wanted to create a blazin’ 70s party! I just love all the retro patterns and colors within whole collection. What party planner could resist Lava Lamps and Disco Balls?
Party Decorations I started my decorating with a party backdrop complete with geometric shapes and colors true to the era. See how I created this fun and groovy 70s Party Backdrop HERE. I love paper lanterns so I added a few under the table to add interest along with a couple of the Lava Lamp Centerpieces.
Every 70s party needs a shiny disco ball and nothings screams "Get Your Groove On" like this Mirrored Ball Party Light Set. Not only is it perfect to set the mood but it makes a great centerpiece!
Party Favors One of my favorite elements from the new 70s line are these funky van 70s Party Favor Boxes. Aren't these the cutest? They are a nice size and can fit a bunch of fun party favors.
Pet rocks were one of the biggest trends from the 70s, so why not make some Pet Rock Party Favor Boxes for guests? See my tutorial HERE.
Party Food For dessert, I topped my cupcakes with Pop Rocks® and added a Disco Ball cupcake topper that I made out of paper straws and Disco Ball Necklaces.
Tang® was a huge hit in the 1970s so I whipped up a few orange cream milkshakes made with Tang. I served them to guests in 70s Party Disposable Cups. See my easy and delicious recipe for Tang Milkshakes HERE.
Can you dig it? If the 1970s theme rocks your world, I hope you are inspired to celebrate the 70s by throwing your very own 1970s party!
