Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray the muffin pan with non-stick spray and spoon the cake batter in the muffin pan about half way full. Bake for 24-28 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean. One box of cake mix will yield 6 jumbo cupcakes.

Once baked thoroughly, let the cupcakes cool for a few minutes. Then place a platter on top of the pan and flip it upside down to get the cupcakes out. Let cool.

Once cool, place each cupcake on an opened cupcake liner. Microwave the red and orange chocolate candy melts in separate bowls for about 30 seconds or until melted. Spoon plenty of red chocolate on top of the cupcake, pushing the chocolate down the sides with a small spoon. (I also tried melted colored icing, and it worked just as well but it was not as thick.)

Continue to add red chocolate until the chocolate resembles molten lava.

Next, spoon the orange chocolate on top of the red chocolate creating a swirl. Push the chocolate down the sides of the cupcake.

Next, remove the paper volcano from the Volcano Cupcake Pick, leaving just the sparking lava.

Lastly, place the pick in the center of the cupcake. And that’s it! Easy Erupting Volcano cupcakes, perfect for any Dinosaur themed playdate or party!
